April 2025 was a massive month for Xbox Game Pass, and it remains to be seen if May will live up to that incredibly high bar. However, the month is off to a pretty strong start.

It also featured Blue Prince on day one, and that game has similarly earned near-universal praise from fans and critics alike. And then there's Oblivion Remastered, which shadow dropped on Game Pass to a great deal of fanfare. On top of all that, the month also featured a variety of other high-profile day one releases and even the long-awaited Game Pass return of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Xbox Game Pass Will Lose At Least 8 Titles on May 15
Microsoft reveals that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will lose access to at least eight titles on May 15, 2025, including some highly rated titles.
The full Xbox Game Pass May 2025 lineup has yet to be revealed, but subscribers can check out the month's first two additions in the meantime. The latest update to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier has made Anno 1800 and the 2022 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 readily available to subscribers. Anno 1800 is a city-builder real-time strategy game from Ubisoft that earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 didn't exactly impress critics, but remains ridiculously popular. Post-launch updates have made Modern Warfare 2 far more feature-rich than it was at launch, and so it's definitely better now than it was a few years ago.

Anno 1800 and Modern Warfare 2 are the first new Game Pass games for May 2025, but there is even more on the way in the near future. Critically-acclaimed horror fishing game Dredge is coming to Game Pass on May 6, followed by co-op sci-fi game Revenge of the Savage Planet on May 8. The big new Game Pass game for May 2025 is Doom: The Dark Ages, which is set to launch on May 15. And finally, the Katamari Damacy creator's new game, To a T, is joining Game Pass on May 28. There's also Spray Paint Simulator to take into account, though it is currently without a specific release date.
