Players of Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds get sent to the world of Soul Divers to live a life outside the real world of Ichi no Kuni. However, things get wild when players slowly uncover a conspiracy that threatens both the virtual and the real world, and they have to team up with each other in order to save the world in this Ni no Kuni title. Thanks to this game’s format as an MMO, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds does allow players to create and join Kingdoms, which is the game’s version of guilds.
While the Ni no Kuni MMO allows players to team up and do quests through guilds, some players may feel overwhelmed with the entire mechanics of Kingdoms. Thankfully, understanding the basics of the system can make this an efficient way to expand the excitement of Cross Worlds’ single-player experience into the multiplayer space.
What Are Kingdoms?
Before players dive deeper into how to create and join Kingdoms as beginners in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, it helps to understand what exactly Kingdoms are. At its core, Kingdoms are the equivalent of guilds in the game, wherein players rebuild the Nameless Kingdom in their own image and band together to do a wide variety of quests.
How To Join A Kingdom
Similar to other MMOs, finding a guild to join is also straightforward in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. At its core, players simply need to go to the right side of the menu and access their Community tab, through which they can access the Kingdom sub-section. Players who aren’t a part of any Kingdom yet can see a list of Kingdoms they can join.
Why Join A Kingdom
While it’s perfectly fine for players to go play solo in Cross Worlds, it may help for players to consider joining a Kingdom to maximize the features of the Ni no Kuni title. Here are some reasons why players may want to join a Kingdom to further their experience:
- Team up with individuals of the same interests: Players can join a Kingdom to team up with players that have similar objectives as them, such as tackling specific quests and dungeons. This eases the burden of finding party members who may end up not interested in the quests players have in store. Due to the nature of Cross Worlds Classes as synergistic, joining a Kingdom makes teaming up much easier.
- Be part of a larger cause: Those who love a sense of purpose and belonging to a community may love being a part of a Kingdom. The various team-based options such as Check-Ins, Donations, and even group dungeons can give players a sense of camaraderie that a simple party may not be able to offer.
Look Into The Subreddit
One of the best ways to search for an ideal Kingdom for players is through the game’s official subreddit. In r/NiNoKuniCrossworlds, there is actually a weekly recruitment megathread wherein guild owners may be able to place and promote their own Kingdoms. This can help players locate ideal Kingdoms that suit their interests. Players who want to promote their own Kingdoms or find a good Kingdom to join may submit the following information to the megathread:
- Name of the Kingdom
- The Server (US, EU)
- Description of the Kingdom and other requirements, such as level limits or playstyles
How To Create A Kingdom
Likewise, players do have an option to create their own Kingdom to start their own guild. This is an ideal way for players and their friends to group together and play the game in their own time with less pressure from other potential teammates.
Why Create A Kingdom
While players can perfectly enjoy all of the Kingdom’s features by just being a member, there are particular benefits as to why prospective leaders may want to create their own guild. At its core, players may want to create a Kingdom of their own for the following reasons:
- Play at one’s own pace: Unlike the pressures of dealing with other individuals in other Kingdoms, players who make their own Kingdoms can participate in Kingdom affairs at their own pace and without pressure.
- Cater to like-minded individuals: Players who take on the role of a guild leader can cater the Kingdom to precisely the right kind of individuals. This allows players to team up with people who also have similar objectives as them throughout the course of the game.
- Reap more rewards with friends: Instead of just playing in a party, players who play with friends as part of a Kingdom can reap more tangible rewards through fulfilling various quests and obligations. Moreover, this allows players to synergize their Classes more efficiently, allowing the combination of their Class Passives and the like to clear dungeons faster compared to when building parties from scratch.
Creating A Kingdom
In order to create a Kingdom, players simply need to access the Kingdom menu once more via the Community tab. They need to click the “Create a Kingdom” section in order to be brought to a simple interface. Here, players need to take note of the following:
- Name: Owners need to name their own Kingdom
- Symbol: Players need to select an icon that symbolizes their Kingdom
- Patterns: Certain colors can be applied to the Kingdom emblem
- Create Kingdom: It costs 120 Prisms to create a Kingdom using the above presets
Kingdom Management Tips
When players create their own Kingdom, they’re not simply there for the purposes of gathering players of in-demand Classes like the Destroyer to do quests and dungeons. Rather, players may want to consider creating a Kingdom in order to maximize particular benefits that the game has to offer, especially on the team’s terms and without pressure from other guild leaders and other members.
Check-Ins, Donations, Citadel Quests
Similar to other MMOs, it helps for players and leaders of Kingdoms to take note of how many resources the guild holds. That way, guild leaders may be able to upgrade their Kingdom’s components in order to reap more benefits. Players who are members of guilds can take note of two things when it comes to gathering resources:
- Check-Ins: Players need to do Kingdom Check-Ins in order to reap particular rewards from the Kingdom. Technically speaking, players need to have more guild members check-in in order to gather more rewards. They can redeem the current reward through the “Obtain Reward” button.
- Donations: The Kingdom’s resources come from player Donations, which can be done in the Kingdom Donation segment. Donations can come in the form of Gold, Obsidian, and Prism, all of which players can gather throughout the game. It’s essential for players to donate through these means, so the Kingdom has more means for upgrades and offers more bonuses.
- Weekly Citadel Quests: Players can do three Weekly Citadel Quests in order to help level up the Kingdom. Similar to the game’s dailies and weeklies, the Weekly Citadel Quests are often easy to do. While a lot of them are gathering quests, some Citadel Quests do require players to engage in combat, allowing Cross Worlds players to utilize their Class’s Core Abilities and other skills.
Buffs Through Kingdom Restaurant, Kingdom Lab, Higgledy Theater
One interesting benefit players can get when joining Kingdoms are buffs, which they can obtain from both the Kingdom Restaurant and the Kingdom Lab, as well as the Higgledy Theater. Unlike other MMOs that simply have players activate buffs, there’s an interactive component that allows players to see their characters eat in the restaurant or perform experiments in the lab.
These buffs allow more direct Classes such as the Swordsman, to max out their stats before engaging in combat. At its core, Kingdom members may be able to activate various buffs for a limited time. Here are certain considerations:
- Kingdom Restaurant: Players can turn in ingredients to transform them into food through recipes currently available in the Kingdom Restaurant. These recipes can boost stats such as ATK and the like.
- Kingdom Lab: Leaders of the Kingdom may be able to activate buffs in the Kingdom Lab via Obsidian. These buffs or Blessings may be able to accrue bonuses such as ATK and DEF, as well as elemental bonuses.
- Higgledy Theater: Players may be able to watch cute Higgledies perform in the Theater in order to get a rather intense buff. The more money gets into the Higgledy Theater, the better performances the Higgledy can do, and the more powerful buffs players can access.
Fight Hordes Of Monsters
Players of Ni no Kuni know that there are quite a lot of monsters to fight and dungeons to explore throughout the game. These include World Boss events and the like, in which players may freely indulge with friends, especially in PVE-oriented Classes like the Witch. However, players who are members of Kingdoms may have additional options for dungeons to dwell in and creatures to fight. These include the following events:
- Kingdom Dungeon: These are weekly dungeons that players can finish to reap quite a ton of rewards. Kingdom Dungeons can become rather difficult to deal with, as they’re extremely strong. When leaders open the Kingdom Dungeon, the boss monster appears for players to rush in and deal damage. The monster doesn’t necessarily fight back but packs a lot of health. As such, players who chip in the most damage reap more rewards compared to the others.
- Kingdom Castle Defense: Given how the Nameless Kingdom is a fortress, it makes sense for players of various Kingdoms to face off against invaders. By the time Kingdom turns Level 7, players may hold Kingdom Defense where players have to defend the Kingdom from monsters. Aside from fighting monsters through sheer force, players may be able to construct towers and even create robots from the Kingdom Workshop to repel invaders.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds was released globally in 2022 for Android, iOS, and PC.
