How to Craft a Fishing Rod in Nightingale
A fishing rod is an essential component for obvious reasons. However, to begin the crafting process, players must first complete a prerequisite: building a Simple Workbench. The Simple Workbench’s use isn’t limited to curating a fishing rod; it’s also used to craft numerous items that aid a player’s gameplay experience in Nightingale. Furthermore, to build a Simple Workbench, players need two types of resources in abundance.
- 10x Wood Bundle
- 4x Plant Fiber
Once the Simple Workbench is created, players can start crafting the Fishing Rod. To do so, players must first purchase the rod’s blueprint from an Essence Trader in the Abeyance Realm. As the purchase is completed, players must acquire a few resources to craft the fishing rod. These resources include:
- 1x Bone Bundle
- 1x Bone
- 2x Animal Fibers
How to Win the Fishing Minigame
The fishing mechanics in Nightingale closely resemble real-life fishing scenarios. Once players find a location where there’s water present, they’ll have to left-click on their mouse to dip the fishing rod into it. As a marine creature takes the bait, left-clicking the mouse again would initiate the fishing minigame.
Though the term sounds confusing, it really isn’t. The fishing minigame can be considered a game of tug-of-war between the players and the marine creature, where players have to use their character’s stamina and force to lure the fish towards them.
As the players attempt this, they’ll notice the red bar on the fish depletes. This suggests that the marine creature is close to being caught. However, at the same time, players must be mindful of their character’s stamina, which reduces as they consecutively left-click their mouse to capture the fish.
To prevent this from happening, players can leave the left click on their mouse until their stamina regenerates. However, during stamina regeneration, players will notice the fish’s red bar returning to normal. Hence, they must ensure they don’t regain stamina for too long.
Furthermore, the creature will try to escape the fishing rod, increasing its tension. If the tension surpasses a certain caliber, the fishing rod will break, and the fish will successfully run. To prevent this, players can maneuver near the fish and try to keep the tension in the center. This can be achieved by clicking on one’s left mouse after short intervals rather than constant tapping.
