Nightingale: How to Increase Carry Capacity

As an open-world survival experience, Inflexion Games' Nightingale is all about giving players the tools to play however they want, even to the extent of generating the worlds they can explore using the Realm card system. The mysterious Fae realms are full of possibilities, creating an engaging crafting system that feeds seamlessly into progression.

With materials to be gathered from all corners of a realm, having the ability to carry heavy items and multiple stacks is always a key skill to have. At the start of your adventure, there will be a limit to carrying capacity, but as players go deeper into the world of Nightingale, there will be opportunities to increase the limit to enhance the adventure.

How to Increase Carrying Capacity in Nightingale

The best option to increase a player's inventory-carrying capacity is by crafting, and the key item to all of it is the backpack. Although you will still be limited to 75 inventory slots, having a backpack equipped will make it possible to carry more weight, preventing your character from being encumbered.

Once the tutorial sections are over, and Puck sends players to their beginning realm, progress through the various milestones until the task to craft the Simple Sewing Bench is given. Locate the Essence Trader via the map, and head over to purchase the required recipe.

Crafting the Simple Sewing Bench requires 10 Wood Bundles, 15 Fibre, and one Bone. The Wood Bundles can be obtained by chopping down trees using the axe; Fibre can be grabbed from the smaller plants around, while a Bone can be obtained from defeating the wildlife found in the biome. Once all of that is in your possession, you can finally construct the Simple Sewing Bench back at base.

This will allow players to craft the first backpack of Nightingale, which is the Simple Pack. This will increase the weight limit by 75, so players can walk around comfortably with 150kg worth of carrying capacity. The Simple Pack will require two Leather and six Fibre, so start hunting and gathering once more. Once that is done, head back to the bench and craft the shiny new addition to your arsenal.

There will be better backpacks that can be crafted in the future, but for a start, the Simple Pack will suffice as players find their feet in the Fae wilds.
