Ninja is an incredibly popular streamer who has achieved some incredible milestones in terms of a fan base and financial success. The streamer often plays the battle royale game Fortnite, despite this Ninja has been vocal about how the game could be improved and while playing has once again gone a profanity riddled rant about these areas. While Ninja has raised relevant points about where the game could improve, some may question why the player keeps returning to a game that frequently ends in the streamer complaining.
Fortnite has been one of the most successful battle royale games and has differentiated itself in a saturated market through building mechanics and events. Despite this, the game has been criticized in recent weeks for a whole host of reasons, one prevalent theme has been that the game has lost what made it initially special. Yet, Ninja managed to pinpoint aspects of the game that annoyed him after losing a confrontation.
In what was clearly an angry response to losing a game, Ninja stated, "[Came on] to Fortnite to have some fun. First game I died to one of the sweatiest players I've seen in this f****g game, in a long time. Sypher has 150 shield yet gets heavy sniped from 200 meters away -- gets knocked. Second guy, heavy snipes him, thirsts him, he's dead. Launch pad over to me, minigun spray. It's just so bad. It's so bad. It's not fun. I don't have fun. Getting heavy sniped is not fun". The player went on to lament heavy snipers and their inclusion in the game further. Despite an increasing amount of rants by Ninja directed at Fortnite, the streamer frequently plays the title.
While many players are currently unhappy with Fortnite, Ninja has been constructive in pointing our areas that could be improved. Fortnite is making changes and there are rumors of major updates it seems that the game is largely attracting negative attention bar its live events. It will be interesting to see how updates impact players and if Ninja continues playing the title which clearly annoys the player, or whether they will move on to a new title to regularly stream.
At the moment it seems that Ninja has not lined up a new game to move on to. With that said, the increasing popularity of other battle royale games may cause Fortnite to experience some serious renovations to keep existing players. Equally the title may be looking into a new target audience and leaving annoyed players behind.
