In Ninja Gaiden 2 Black's eighth chapter, you will once again give up control of Ryu in favor of the hammer-wielding demon hunter Rachel. While she is considerably slower than Ryu, her Inferno Hammer packs a considerable punch. Like NG2B's fifth chapter, this level can be seen as something of a standalone experience. It does not contain any of the game's key collectibles, so you can feel safe blazing your way through without worrying too much about missing anything important. Chapter 9 Walkthrough and Collectibles - Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
This walkthrough will help players find all the collectibles in, and complete, The Flying Fortress Daedalus, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black’s ninth chapter.
Rachel will begin Ninja Gaiden 2 Black's eighth chapter with her Inferno Hammer fully upgraded. You'll likely want to take a moment to look at the list of techniques, and familiarize yourself with the weapon's various combos. Rachel also uses the Type 666 Heavy Machine Gun as her ranged weapon, which can be a useful tool for interrupting enemy attacks. Taking the time to learn Rachel's strengths and weaknesses will make Chapter 8 a much better experience.
Chapter 8 Walkthrough Part 1: Save Points 1–3 – Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
Start – Save Point 1:

Chapter 8 brings you back to the streets of New York, and begins at the massive hole in the city street that Ryu jumps into in Chapter 3. Here, you'll want to begin by heading away from the hole. Make a left turn onto the only street you can follow at this point. As soon as you turn, the first group of demons will spawn. This is where you'll get your first taste of combat as Rachel.
After taking care of the demons, head to the end of the street, then turn right into the alleyway between the small and large buildings. After turning, you'll see the first chest on the ground, along the right side of the path. This chest contains a Herb of Spiritual Life.
After the chest, turn left at the next fork, and you'll face a group of several winged demons. Defeat them and then make your way into the large, open area. You may face more enemies here, depending on your chosen difficulty level. At the end of the open area, turn down the street with the large red neon sign, and the streetlamp and stoplight. Another group of smaller demons will spawn.
Make a right turn when you reach the red metal walls, then stick to the right side of the street to find the next chest just before the large pile of rubble. This chest contains one Devil's Way Mushroom. After opening the chest, a wave of demons will attack. Once they are defeated, make your way through the small gap in the red metal fence.
You'll quickly see a building under construction you can enter. Make your way inside, then fight off the next wave of enemies. On the first floor of the building, you can find two more chests. One contains another Herb of Spiritual Life, and the second, which sits in the corner near the ramp to the second level, contains Grains of Spiritual Life.
After opening the chests, you'll find the first Dragon Statue save point at the base of the ramp that leads to the building's second level.
Save Point 2:
From the first save point, make your way up the ramp to the second level, where you'll find a group of small demons waiting for you. After they are dealt with, step onto the large platform in the center of the chamber. This is an elevator that will take you up several floors.
While on the lift, you'll have to defeat several waves of enemies. None of them are particularly threatening, so this serves as more of a way to pass the time.
Once you defeat all enemies, and the elevator comes to a stop, you'll find the second Save Point just after exiting the lift.
Save Point 3 & Muramasa Shop:
After you interact with Save Point 2, turn around and get back on the elevator. As you go up, you'll face two more rounds of enemies. During the second wave, the game will take over and a brief cutscene will begin to play.
At the end of the cutscene, you'll regain control of Rachel on one of the upper floors. Take out the large flying demons, then make your way around until you see an exit to the outer path on the left. If you turn right at this fork, you'll find a Muramasa Shop.
After taking a left onto the outer path, you'll find Save Point 3 at the base of a set of stairs that lead up to the Marbus Boss Fight.
Marbus Boss Fight:
From the third save point, make your way up the stairs. As you climb, there will be several small demons blocking your path. Some of them will stand at the top of each flight of stairs and launch projectiles back down. Do your best to dodge the projectiles, as they can launch you back to the bottom.
Once you reach the very top of the stairs, you'll encounter Marbus, the massive flying demon from the chapter's opening cutscene. His fight is not too bad at lower difficulty levels, but can be very difficult for those who play at the higher challenge levels.
Marbus will spawn several small demons in the fight, which can be a real nuisance. Marbus spends the majority of the flight in the air, performing high-speed attacks. If you are overly-focused on the small demons, Marbus can quickly destroy you from above. If you focus on Marbus, then the smaller demons can become a problem.
For this reason, we recommend taking out the small demons as quickly as possible, while trying to keep an eye on Marbus. Do your best to dodge the air attacks. Once you defeat the small demons, focus solely on Marbus until he spawns another group of demons. Follow this cycle until Marbus is killed. This will bring Chapter 8 to a close.
