A hilarious new PC mod for the recently released Ninja Gaiden 2 Black sees its protagonist replaced with Wallace from Wallace and Gromit. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black was revealed and shadow-dropped as part of Xbox's recent Developer Direct last week, which also saw the big unveiling of Ninja Gaiden 4. Since its exciting release, fans of Koei Tecmo's iconic fast-paced action series have been busy enjoying this new remaster of the 2008 Xbox 360 classic.

Wallace and Gromit is a globally popular animated film and television franchise that began as a series of short films in the early 90s. The films are centered around a man named Wallace and his dog Gromit who usually get up to a whole lot of comedic chaos and hijinks. The first Wallace and Gromit feature film, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, was released in 2005, and its cinematic follow-up, Vengeance Most Fowl, was recently released nearly 20 years later, in 2024. Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl was a big hit, as it was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at this year's Oscars, which is set to take place on March 2.

Less than a week since the stealth release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, it seems PC modders are already having a field day with the action remaster. One modder in particular has created a mod that replaces franchise icon Ryu Hayabusa with Wallace from Wallace and Gromit in Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. The mod was created by HaiseSasan125 on NexusMods, and is available for fans to download and use themselves.

It's hilarious seeing Wallace flip around and slashing enemies to pieces in clips of the mod online, and so far, it's easily one of the silliest mods that's been released for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Fans of the Wallace mod showed their appreciation for HaiseSasan's creation on NexusMods, one of which suggested a mod that turns all enemies into blocks of cheese. Fans of Wallace and Gromit are surely aware of Wallace's obsession with cheese, a running gag throughout the franchise. Another NexusMods user wondered about when someone would add CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the game, as adding GTA's CJ into pretty much any game has become a meme in the PC mod community.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has been a huge hit so far, but fans of the franchise have so much more to look forward to this year. A 2D action platformer from the esteemed studio behind Blasphemous, named Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, is aiming for a Summer release. As for Ninja Gaiden 4, it's targeting Fall 2025. The PC modding world surely has more plans for the fourth mainline Ninja Gaiden upon its release. Fans can surely look forward to hearing more about both titles throughout the year.

The stages, characters, effects, and lighting have been completely redesigned and remastered to provide realistic visuals. Unreal Engine 5 has been utilized to create stunning current-generation graphics, allowing players to immerse themselves more deeply in the story's world.
2. High-speed x violent action further evolved with the latest graphic expressions!
Gore elements such as dismemberment and blood have been remastered to enhance the action experience. Players can enjoy high-speed, violent action using a wide variety of weapons and techniques, including Japanese swords, shurikens, Kusari-gamas, and tonfas.
Note: The dismemberment feature can be toggled on and off in the Options menu.
3. Additional characters, mode for beginners, and elements from subsequent spin-off titles are also included!
This remaster includes additional elements from spin-off titles released after the original. Players can control three additional characters: Momiji, Ayane, and Rachel. The game also includes "HERO PLAY STYLE" mode that provides automatic support in challenging situations, making it accessible for those who may not be confident in their action skills.
