The Best Ninja Gaiden Games, Ranked

How to Increase Yakumo's Max Health in Ninja Gaiden 4
Black Scales and Phantasmal Herbs:
The process for increasing the size of the health bar in NG4 is simple. First, you need to collect one unit of two specific items. The first item is a Black Scale, and the second item is a Phantasmal Herb. Once you collect one of each item, NG4 will automatically combine them into a new upgrade item called the Dragon Lord's Grace.
When a Dragon Lord's Grace is successfully created, Yakumo will automatically consume the item, increasing the size of his health bar by a small amount. Judging by information provided in the game, it appears that you can increase Yakumo's max health ten times, which means there should be ten Black Scales, and ten Phantasmal Herbs.
Many of the Black Scales and Phantasmal Herbs are acquired through side-missions. You must make sure to accept the side-missions at the start of each chapter. Check the first DarkNest Terminal, and then each subsequent terminal, for new missions. Also, remember to turn in your missions to any DarkNest Terminal once they are complete. You must do this to receive the reward.
