Nintendo has confirmed that a new Indie World Showcase will be held on August 7, with the presentation slated to share updates and announcements regarding upcoming Switch and Switch 2 titles. While the Nintendo Switch 2 has been a massive success following its June launch, many gamers are eager for more titles to be released for the new hybrid console, and fans of smaller indie titles will soon have a better idea of what the future holds.

Plenty of third-party games were available on the Switch 2 at launch, though fans of classic Nintendo properties were frustrated by the lack of day-one first-party offerings. Those who managed to snag the new console have at least four Switch 2 exclusives to look forward to in 2025, with Drag x Drive and Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World coming this month. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment doesn't have a release date just yet, though the game is aiming for a Winter 2025 launch, while Kirby Air Riders is only confirmed to be coming this year. In the meantime, Nintendo is gearing up to share some details about some more unique experiences headed to its new hardware.

In a new Twitter post, Nintendo has confirmed that an Indie World Showcase will be held on August 7 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET. The stream will last for around 15 minutes and share more details about upcoming indie titles for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. While little can be predicted about the content of the stream, fans are hoping to get a more in-depth look at the Hollow Live sequel, as a Silksong demo has been confirmed for this month's Gamescom event. Announced in 2019, the Metroidvania title has been at the top of many players' wishlists for years, and the potential for a release date announcement during the Indie World Showcase will likely inspire many to tune in.

A Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on July 31 shared ample information about upcoming third-party games headed to the Switch and Switch 2, with players getting their first look at Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Once Upon a Katamari, and Octopath Traveler 0. The latter proved to be the star of the show for RPG fans, with the HD-2D title slated to be released for both consoles on December 4.

At the time of writing, Nintendo Switch 2 owners can take part in a survey to share their thoughts about certain aspects of the new system, including its controversial Game-Key Cards. The divisive medium continues to be a hot topic in the community, with many concerned that the cartridges will jeopardize game preservation in the future.
