Some Nintendo Switch 2 players are having a hard time finding the console's official carrying case, with many claiming that the accessory is harder to find than the console itself. Following the hardware's highly anticipated release on June 5, stock sold out quickly both online and at brick and mortar stores, with many eager fans still trying to get their hands on a Switch 2 weeks later.
The excitement leading up to the release of Nintendo's newest hybrid console was palpable, and as sales numbers began to trickle in, it became clear that the system had become an instant hit. The Switch 2 is now Nintendo's fastest-selling console, with over 3.5 million units sold globally in only its first four days on the market. While the system itself is the highlight, the Switch 2 also boasts several official accessories for players to snag, including a camera for the new GameChat feature and a GameCube controller that looks and feels just like the original. Some of these accessories have been a little too popular, with some players claiming that one in particular is proving nearly impossible to find.
Two of Nintendo Switch 2's July Games Aren't Like The Others, But That's a Good Thing
The Nintendo Switch 2 will bolster its library of games in July with the help of a couple games who stand out from their peers in the right way.
In a new Reddit post, user SeaworthinessFit1924 shared an image of the official Switch 2 carrying case, stating that the item is even "more elusive than the console itself." The comments section is full of other fans commiserating with the post, with one user in the Los Angeles area claiming that they had been to five Targets within driving distance of their home without seeing the case a single time. While this may be frustrating, others in the thread state that the case itself isn't worth the $40 price tag anyway, calling both it and the included screen protector "cheaply made" and "flimsy."
Nintendo Switch 2 Fans Say That the System’s Official Carrying Case Is Sold Out Everywhere
While reactions to the new console have been largely positive, the Nintendo Switch 2 has seen its fair share of issues during its first few weeks. The Joy-Con drift issue, common during the Switch 1 era, has already been a problem for some players, with Nintendo offering to replace any faulty controllers free of charge. Additionally, some users claim that the rumble feature is turning itself off during gameplay, though some speculate this may be a way to keep the new Joy-Cons from overheating.
More official accessories may be on the way for the hybrid console, with a Switch 2 version of the iconic NES Zapper light gun potentially in the works. Players also have plenty of new games to look forward to in July, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, Shadow Labyrinth, and Wild Hearts S. The Switch 2 version of Super Mario Party Jamboree is also slated to be released on July 24, with new mini-games making use of the console's camera.
