In its latest financial report, Nintendo highlighted 23 games that are in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 release date is set for June 5, with millions of fans having already secured their pre-order for the next-generation home console/handheld hybrid. Of course, a console is only as good as its games, and so it's a good thing that there are many exciting titles in the pipeline for the Switch 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct revealed important details about the console, like its price and release date, but it also showcased various games that will be released for the system in 2025 and beyond. Nintendo has now reminded fans about what they can expect from Nintendo Switch 2 releases this year and in 2026, highlighting its first-party exclusives, Nintendo Switch 2 Edition versions of Switch 1 games, and third-party titles that are in development.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Order Invites Are Going Out Now
Nintendo is currently sending out invites for lucky fans to pre-order its next-generation console, the Switch 2.
The Switch 2 first-party exclusives lineup is headlined by Mario Kart World, which will also be a launch title for the new system. Joining Mario Kart World at launch is the controversial Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which is effectively a $9.99 tech demo showcasing the Switch 2's unique capabilities. On July 17, Donkey Kong Bananza will release for the Switch 2, and later this summer, Switch 2 early adopters can look forward to playing Drag x Drive. Later in 2025, Kirby Air Riders will launch for the Switch 2, though it is without a specific release window at the time of this writing.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is getting the Switch 2 treatment with brand-new game modes on July 24, followed by Kirby and the Forgotten Land on August 28. New Switch 1 games Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will also have Switch 2 Editions when they hit store shelves later this year.
As far as third-party support goes, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Deltarune, Split Fiction, Street Fighter 6, Survival Kids, and Yakuza 0: Director's Cut are all Switch 2 launch titles. Tamagotchi Plaza will be out on June 27, and Story of Seasons is coming on August 27. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is set to launch at some point this winter, while FromSoftware's The Duskbloods is aiming for a 2026 release. Hades 2 is also in the works for the Switch 2, but it is currently without a release date.
Nintendo most likely has even more Switch 2 games it has yet to reveal for 2025. With the Switch 2 launching on June 5, it's unclear if the company will host its usual June Nintendo Direct presentation, but fans should keep an eye out for more information on that front. Nintendo expects to sell at least 15 million Switch 2 units this fiscal year, and it will need to provide plenty of high-quality software to hit that goal.
