Securing a pre-order online has been easier said than done for most, and some gamers are currently camped out at their local retailers to grab a Switch 2 as soon as the system is made available to the public.

Some retailers have already cleared shelf space for the Nintendo Switch 2, as pointed out by eagle-eyed customers anxiously awaiting the system’s arrival. Outside of the US, stores in Japan have issued warnings against scalpers who will likely try to snatch up any launch day Switch 2 stock to resell at inflated prices online - something that caused many issues when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles were released in 2020.

With the big Nintendo Switch 2 launch fast approaching, retailers are reportedly receiving their first shipments of the new console. Reddit user sadgepvc recently shared a picture of the Switch 2 units that were delivered to the Target where they work on r/NintendoSwitch2. This shipment consisted of 20 Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundles and 20 standard Nintendo Switch 2 units. They say that their Target is one of the smallest in their area, and that there will likely be more for pickup at other stores when the big day arrives.

Retailers Are Getting Nintendo Switch 2 Shipments

To prove their claims, sadgepvc made another Reddit post of a sticker on one of the Switch 2 shipments with all the sensitive information crossed out. The comments sections of both posts are filled with users expressing their excitement for the Switch 2, as well as disbelief that the big launch day is so close already. Nintendo has been building hype for its next mainline console since its full reveal in April, and there are rumors of another Nintendo Direct livestream set to take place around the time of the Switch 2’s release.

Not every piece of news surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 has been so optimistic, as the surprisingly high price tags for first-party games like Mario Kart World have been a source of controversy for the past few months. This hasn’t stopped gamers from trying to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of June 5, as retailers have been consistently selling out as soon as they get pre-order stock.
