Nintendo Switch Giving Away 10 Free Games Starting Today

No Gravity Games is at it again with its annual Switchmas giveaway of Nintendo Switch games kicking off on December 12. For the past few years, the free goodies being given away in the days leading up to Christmas has become a staple for many Switch gamers. Advent calendars are always fun, even more so when they involve free video games and no initial investment to take part.

A publisher of all things indie, No Gravity Games has helped dozens of games make it to market, whether for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox, or PlayStation. The titles cover a wide range of genres, from puzzle games to horror to a platformer about cats, so there’s generally something for everyone. And every year in December, several of those releases are handed out for Switch owners, or at least anyone with a Nintendo account.

No Gravity Games’ Switchmas 2025 Kicks Off With a Shooter

Beginning on December 12, users will be able to claim a free game daily for eight days, and they can be found either by searching on the Nintendo eShop or by checking out No Gravity Games’ website. In total, there will be 10 games given away during Switchmas, one each day for seven days and then three on December 19. Almost all of the games are brand new and have never been given away during Switchmas before. Part of the fun is the surprise, so the specific titles that will be handed out is hidden.

The first of the free games is Bullets & Brains, developed by Ajvar Studio and released in June. The arcade top-down 3D shooter takes place in a post-apocalyptic world that is teeming with zombies. As one of the sole survivors, the player is just trying to survive by gunning down waves of undead. There are abilities to unlock, secrets to uncover, and collectibles to track down. And, bonus, Bullets & Brains offers two-player co-op. The game is compatible with both the original Switch and Switch 2.

With the No Gravity Games giveaways, there are three important caveats to keep in mind. First, the giveaway is only open to those with a North American Nintendo eShop account. Second, to claim the first free game, users must already own a No Gravity Games title. Luckily, from December 8 to 12, to get people started, the company is giving away an extra free game to anybody who signs up for the No Gravity Games newsletter. The third caveat is that to claim each game, the one from the day before must have either been claimed or purchased. The good news is that all the games being offered in the giveaway are also discounted to $2.49 USD, so any title missed can be picked up for cheap to keep the train going.

While every game won’t be a hit with everybody, it’s definitely worth checking in every day and snagging them all. There were several great titles given away during Switchmas 2024, for example, and one of the best arrived on the very last day.
