More games will come to the Switch Online service in the months ahead, though it's anyone's guess as to what those games will be. In the meantime, it seems Nintendo has some big plans for the service. The company recently let Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers sign up to test a mysterious new feature that will go live later this month. What exactly the feature is remains to be seen, but all available spots were filled in mere seconds. Some fans have theorized that the feature has something to do with cloud gaming, but that remains to be seen.
Switch Online seems to have a bright future. It's expected that Switch Online will carry over to the next-generation Nintendo console, though that has yet to be officially confirmed. But with the next-gen Nintendo believed to be backward compatible, one has to imagine that it would make a lot of sense for there to be continuity for the Switch Online service.
The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console launched in 2017, capable of being played in handheld mode or docked to a television. The Switch Lite, a handheld-only model, followed in 2019, with an OLED refresh coming in 2021.
