Although the Wii U was a major disappointment for Nintendo and its fans, the last two years have been overwhelmingly successful for Nintendo, and the Japanese company is continuing to surprise players and exceed expectations.

With the release of Nintendo Switch Online less than a month ago, Nintendo announced that its NES Online library would be steadily expanding throughout the next few months. Having announced that NES Open Tournament Golf, Solomon's Key, and Super Dodge Ball would be added to Nintendo Switch Online in October, players were only expecting three new games to be available. Nintendo surprised its fans today when it added not only those three games to the NES library, but also a bolstered version of one of its current games with The Legend of Zelda-Living the Life of Luxury.

NES-Online-Zelda

Living the Life of Luxury is a "souped-up" version of the original game, The Legend of Zelda. Being the same core game, the special version starts the player off with heaps of rupees, items, and all equipment, including the White Sword, Magical Shield, Blue Ring, and the Power Bracelet. O

ther than the nostalgia that associates itself with playing The Legend of Zelda on Switch Online, it seems that Nintendo still wants to pull new players into the world where Link's journey first began by giving them all of the tools to succeed immediately. Although the nostalgia is enough to keep some fans playing, Nintendo did announce that if players beat this version of The Legend of Zelda, they will unlock a more difficult version called Second Quest.

Regardless of how players respond to the addition of this updated version of The Legend of Zelda, fans still have the future of the NES library to look forward to. With Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee being added in November, and Wario's Woods, Ninja Gaiden, and Adventure of Lolo coming in December, there's a chance that a surprise game or special version will accompany each month's new additions. And while many fans wish that Nintendo would release all of its top NES games to the Nintendo Switch Online library, it is unlikely that will happen anytime soon, so as of right now, three or possibly four new games each month will have to do.
