Summary
- Nintendo Switch Online offers new Zelda icons for fans of Ocarina of Time and The Adventure of Link.

- The offer is available until June 30, so fans should act fast to secure these limited-time icons.
Nintendo Switch Online is offering users a few new Zelda perks in the form of icons from a pair of classic entries to the franchise. Nintendo Switch owners don't have to do much to unlock them, so fans of either the N64 or NES era of The Legend of Zelda series may want to check them out before they disappear.
Nintendo has regularly added icons to the Switch that players can set as their profile image. With numerous options already available, fans probably have a few that they like using based on their favorite Nintendo titles, but new ones get added to the system fairly frequently, ensuring variety.
Surprise Nintendo Switch Online Update Adds 4 Classic Game Boy Games
The latest update to the Nintendo Classics library adds four more Game Boy games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to try.
Now, fans of The Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can acquire new icons based on the two games. The Adventure of Link has received five icons, while Ocarina of Time has thirteen. The Adventure of Link's icons are based upon the sprite artwork of the original game, while Ocarina of Time features artwork of Link in his youth and adulthood, plus other important characters like Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf.
How to Get the New Zelda Nintendo Switch Icons
Players who are interested in these icons will need to spend some Platinum Points to secure them. However, both games will need to actually be booted up on the player's system in order to unlock the icons for exchange. Players don't need to actually play through; booting the games up in the Nintendo Classics app will suffice. From there, players can unlock each icon for 10 Platinum points a piece. Booting up either game will net players with 50 points, or both for 100, so fans should be able to redeem many icons even if they don't have any Platinum points stored up. However, the one caveat is that Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available with the Expansion Pack, so players who want the icons from that game will need to be subscribed to the extra Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack add-on.
While most Zelda fans are likely excited for the new upgrades that are arriving for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom via the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo is still committed to offering original Switch owners opportunities and games. While there should be ample time to earn the Platinum needed to earn these icons, fans should be aware that the offer is only good until June 30. After that, like most prior offers, these Nintendo icons will be made unavailable for the foreseeable future.
