Where To Find Uranium In No Man's Sky

Find A Planet With Uranium

No Man's Sky - Scan Planet For Uranium

Uranium is not found on all planets. Therefore, upon arriving in a new star system, players will want to fly around and scan different planets. If present, Uranium will be listed as one of the planet's resources.

Uranium is typically present on planets with a radioactive environment, with some of these being gamma-intensive. One tip can be to look for green/yellow planets in the system first, as these are often radioactive. However, planets of any color can contain Uranium.

Finding Uranium Deposits

No Man's Sky - Uranium Deposit Tag on Visor

After flying down to the surface of a planet that is confirmed to contain Uranium, players will want to use their Analysis Visor and look around for Uranium Deposit nodes.

If players have built a Corvette in No Man's Sky, they can open the hatch while hovering above the surface and use their visor while looking out from the back of the ship. This makes the process much faster, rather than landing and having to take off, especially with the ability to beam down and up.

With one tagged, head off in that direction either by foot or ship. At the Uranium Deposit, which will be yellow/gold, use the Terrain Manipulator multi-tool to dig up the Uranium, which will go directly into the inventory as long as there's enough space.

On these radioactive planets, some normal mineral rocks may also contain small amounts of Uranium.

Purchasing Uranium

Uranium can also be bought at some Galactic Trade Terminals, which are found on Space Stations and in some buildings on planets.

However, the cost of purchase will typically be vastly more than the Units (No Man's Sky's currency) it can be sold for. Thus, only buy Uranium if you're in a rush, can't find any, or are exceedingly wealthy.

No Man's Sky - Uranium in Portable Refiner

As well as being found or bought, players can also refine Uranium from other resources. To do so, they will need a Refiner or Portable Refiner.

Technically, blueprint recipes aren't required for refining, so players can just throw the following resources into the Refiner to create Uranium.
