- As Hello Games updates the game, more new features could be added.
A No Man's Sky player has shared images of a realistic city they created on their planet due to the lack of metropolises in the game. No Man's Sky has undergone many changes since it was released, and this unique city could inspire another addition to the game.
When No Man's Sky was released, its buggy state resulted in a mixed reception and review bombing. Since then, the game has improved exponentially through updates like NEXT, Pathfinder, and Frontiers, each offering their own additions and adjustments to the game. Because of this, many lapsed gamers were subsequently hooked when they returned to it after one of these patches. A key thing that some players want to be added to No Man's Sky is cities to help populate some of the many planets in its universe. A gamer has decided to take matters into their own hands by creating their own metropolis, which they have dubbed "Velcorin."
No Man's Sky Player Builds Cozy Raft House
One base builder in No Man's Sky shows off a raft house of their own design, though an issue affecting builds on water planets causes some trouble.
Reddit user Goldyisus63 recently shared five images of their No Man's Sky city, highlighting each angle. The first screenshot is an aerial view of Velcorin from one angle, and the second views the city from the opposite side. From here, it's evident that the city includes 14 large structures, six of which are towers. Similar to a real city, none of the buildings look the same, providing a realistic aesthetic to the sci-fi setting of No Man's Sky. There's also an arch, which becomes clearer in the third image, akin to the Arc de Triomphe in France. Instead of a sloped roof, this arch features five golden statues. The final two screenshots are from an isometric angle of the city, and they mostly highlight the network of roads that connect the buildings in the area.
This No Man's Sky City Resembles Something From Earth
According to Goldyisus63, the City of Velcorin is the capital city of the Realm of Halcyon, a unique civilization in Isdoraijung, one of the many galaxies in No Man's Sky. This detail highlights some role-playing that the gamer has inserted, a technique that often keeps building new areas in No Man's Sky fresh. The base includes two Base Computers, features over 5,000 parts in its various buildings and roads, and remains an ongoing project. The main limitation this player ran into in creating this city is the 3,000-part limitation for each Base Computer on a planet, which necessitated that they make two. One Reddit user responded to the post with a screenshot of their own city, further highlighting metropolitan interest in the community.
As Hello Games continues to update No Man's Sky with new content, cities and other megastructures could be added to the game in the future. Until then, cities like the one Goldyisus63 created can help make each world feel lived in for any gamers with the resources to do so.
