Since No Man's Sky's  recent release on Xbox One and near-complete overhaul with its NEXT  update, developer Hello Games has seen a bit of a resurgence in player counts. One fan in particular is now taking the opportunity to not only shed an even more positive light on a game once considered to be a "broken promise," but is also giving back to the community with the help of the newly added multiplayer features.

PC player Long_Nose_Jim is at the center of this act of good will, offering to give away hundreds of crafted stasis devices to No Man's Sky players on a first come, first served basis. Long_Nose_Jim made the announcement on Reddit, posting a screenshot of 43 separate stacks of (5) stasis devices he currently has. For those unfamiliar, stasis devices are considered the most valuable item in No Man's Sky - worth about 17 million per piece. If players were to add up all the devices Long_Nose_Jim has on display in his inventory, the net worth sits at over 3 billion credits.

In order for PC players to possibly get their hands on one of the devices, all they need to do is reach out to the user, and as long as there are still stasis devices available, they can expect an invite from Long_Nose_Jim sometime in the near future. As far as when he'll stop, Long_Nose_Jim has mentioned he'll be hopping on every night to trade away his goods until they're all gone.

Credit not only should be given to Jim for this more than generous offering but to Hello Games and No Man's Sky  as well. If not for their continued post-launch support following their initial struggles early on, the recent NEXT  update, which now allows players to join others in their adventures, wouldn't have come to fruition.

For the past two years, the reception to No Man's Sky  has been fairly negative since it first came to PlayStation 4 and PC in August 2016. At launch, it was clear the marketing leading up to its release left players with a game that not only ran poorly but didn't offer everything it said it was going to.

Since then, No Man's Sky  has received numerous large updates and has started to become the game promised, albeit a couple years later than intended. While Long_Nose_Jim's generosity is one we should make note of, it's thanks to the hard work of managing director Sean Murray and the Hello Games team for making it all possible.

No Man's Sky NEXT  launched this past July for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
