A new update for No Man's Sky is here, bringing with it dozens of helpful bug fixes largely requested by the community. Since its disastrous launch in 2016, Hello Games has turned the fate of No Man's Sky around, releasing countless updates to transform the space exploration title into what it initially promised to be and winning back the support of the community in the meantime.
2025 has been a busy year for No Man's Sky, with the Beacon update going live in June and the highly anticipated Voyagers patch hitting the game in late August. The latter has been a hit with fans, allowing players to build their own spacecraft by utilizing hundreds of parts and connectors found in a new construction workshop. Following the release of Voyagers on August 27, No Man's Sky launched a new Experimental Branch, tasking participants with ensuring that everything in the new patch is working as it should. Large updates typically introduce a number of bugs, and now, a new patch promises to take care of many that have popped up over the past few days.
No Man's Sky Creator's Cryptic Tweets Could Hint at New Update Coming
No Man's Sky creator Sean Murray captures fans' interest with a post that could hint at new content or a surprise Light No Fire reveal.
As announced on the game's official website, the newest update for No Man's Sky is now available for players on Steam, and will launch on other platforms "as soon as possible." Voyagers Patch 6.02 is completely dedicated to bug fixes, with many focused on issues with the new shipbuilding feature. Several collision problems with the Thunderbird access bay have been addressed, along with an issue causing some Corvette parts to become embedded in the space station's floor. Some humorous problems have also been taken care of, including a bug causing NPCs to float and another making players jetpack forward unintentionally. Players will also find that several crashing issues have been fixed, including those caused by autopilot and frigate expeditions.
At the end of August, No Man's Sky reported its highest concurrent player count since 2018, with over 93,000 users logged in to the title on Steam. This can largely be attributed to the launch of the Voyagers update, as many dedicated players in the community have asked Hello Games to implement ship building for years. Many have likened the new feature to what can be found in Bethesda's Starfield.
Even more players are giving the now-popular action-adventure title a try, thanks to No Man's Sky launching for Nintendo Switch 2. In June, the game was the fifth best-selling title on the new system, behind only Deltarune, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Mario Kart World, and Minecraft.
