No Man's Sky's latest major content update, dubbed "Breach," is out now. While Hello Games' procedurally generated space survival title got off to a disappointing start back in 2016, it has continued to grow and change over the nine years since to become a hit among fans. The ride isn't over for No Man's Sky, either, as the game has just gotten its second major expansion in a span of under three months.

A fierce space battle - No Man's Sky

The space exploration title has been on something of a hot streak lately. In late August, No Man's Sky reached its third-highest player count since launch, thanks to its Voyagers update adding several much-requested features to the game. Still, the team over at Hello Games wasn't going to rest after the achievement, and now, just a few months later, it has taken No Man's Sky even further with another expansion in time for Halloween.

No Man's Sky has been around for nearly a decade, and both newcomers and longtime players would benefit from jumping in this year.

Following several cryptic tweets from Director Sean Murray, Hello Games dropped No Man's Sky's Breach update on October 22, 2025. The expansion builds on the previous one, offering a new expedition where players can explore a ship graveyard of wrecked corvettes and scavenge them for parts. Fans have hailed Voyagers as one of No Man's Sky's best updates for the addition of corvette-class ships, and with Breach, Hello Games is making them more enticing than ever with new modules and build configurations. The expedition will also take players to foreboding planets with deep oceans and "unearthly entities" to suit the Halloween season. It begins today and will run for roughly three weeks, giving players plenty of time to explore the spookier side of the No Man's Sky universe.

In addition to expanding the game's corvette-class ships, Breach builds on the spacewalking introduced in No Man's Sky's Voyagers update, as players will have to exit their ships to explore the wreckage and scavenge parts. Completing the expedition will also give players several enticing rewards, including three decorative posters and several ship modules with both aesthetic and functional uses. There are some quality-of-life adjustments in the update, too, like improved snapping and the ability to apply a color pallette to an entire corvette.

Looking beyond Breach, Hello Games has confirmed it will continue to work on No Man's Sky and add more in the future. The announcement also called out the studio's next game. Hello Games first revealed Light No Fire in 2023, and while it still has no release date, the team is asking fans to wishlist it, and more news could be on the horizon.
