The latest update to the Expansion Pack tier of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service has added Luigi's Mansion, considered by many to be one of the best GameCube games ever made. Nintendo Switch Online got a big upgrade to coincide with the launch of the Switch 2. Switch 2 owners who are signed up for the Switch Online's Expansion Pack tier can access everything that Switch 1 owners can, plus exclusive GameCube games.
When the Switch 2 first launched, it did so with three GameCube games for subscribers to try, including some of the platform's best titles. The critically-acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was available right out of the gate, joined by brilliant fighting game Soulcalibur 2 and the super-challenging futuristic racing game F-Zero GX. There have been two additional updates since launch. Super Mario Strikers was added this past July, while cult classic Chibi-Robo made its debut in August.

Luigi's Mansion is Now on Switch Online
The latest update to the Switch Online service has added Luigi's Mansion to the Nintendo Classics lineup. Luigi's Mansion was a launch title for the GameCube, and is remembered fondly as one of the console's defining games. While a little on the short side, Luigi's Mansion was praised for putting Mario's brother in the spotlight in what is effectively a kid-friendly survival-horror game, complete with a ghost-filled mansion and surprising nods to the Resident Evil franchise. Luigi's Mansion is a fan-favorite for good reason, and it's the perfect GameCube game to play for Halloween.
The debut of Luigi's Mansion on the Switch Online Expansion Pack has effectively made the Switch 2 the ultimate Luigi's Mansion console. Not only can the Switch 2 play the original Luigi's Mansion, but thanks to its backward compatibility with the original Switch, it also has access to Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and Luigi's Mansion 3. Both games were well-received, with Luigi's Mansion 2 featuring a mission-based structure and multiple houses to explore, and Luigi's Mansion 3 taking the haunts to a hotel and adding a fantastic co-op mode.

Now that Luigi's Mansion has made its Switch Online debut, there are still four promised GameCube games that have yet to appear on the platform. Nintendo confirmed that Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, and Super Mario Sunshine are all coming to Switch Online at some point in the future. No release dates for those games have been announced yet, but if you have access to Super Mario 3D All-Stars, you at least don't have to wait to play Sunshine.
