Now that fans of classic RPGs are getting their hands on Oblivion Remastered, one of the first questions many will ask is whether the new version will contain the exact same story structure. While it's called a 'remaster,' in many ways the game is a full-on remake, so it's not hard to imagine that developers Virtuous Studios may have included structural changes. However, it seems like they left the narrative structure relatively untouched. For those players who are new to the game, or would simply like a refresher, this guide will include the complete list of all chapters and main story quests as they appear in Oblivion Remastered.

All Main Story Quests in Oblivion Remastered
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered maintains the narrative structure that the original release established. Oblivion Remastered does not have chapters in the typical sense. Its narrative structure is much more free-flowing. There is very little gatekeeping in terms of forcing you to complete main story missions before any other quests. As with many Bethesda games, Oblivion Remastered actively encourages you to get lost in its world.
It is important to point out that, of course, Oblivion Remastered does have a narrative structure. Our list of main quests is presented in the order in which they must be completed.
Complete Main Story Quest List:
- 1. Escape the Prison
- 2. Deliver the Amulet
- 3. Find the Heir
- 4. Break the Siege of Kvatch
- 5. Weynon Priory
- 6. The Path of Dawn
- 7. Dragon Shrine
- 8. Spies
- 9. Blood of the Deadra
- 10. Blood of the Divines
- 11. Great Welkynd Stone
- 12. Bruma Gate
- 13. Allies for Bruma
- 14. Defense of Bruma
- 15. Great Gate
- 16. Paradise
- 17. Light the Dragonfires!
- 18. Epilogue
This represents the 18 major main story missions you'll undertake in Oblivion Remastered, which will likely take around 20 hours to complete. However, the main story barely scratches the surface of the game's total content. There are a vast amount of narrative side-quests, entire questlines for each of the famous guilds, as well as both major story DLCs, Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.
On top of the main story content, and all the narrative side content, remember that this, of course, a Bethesda game. You will get lost for hours simply walking around the game world. And whether it's watching a Guard hovering above a table, destroying everything in their path as they chide you for being a criminal, or marveling at the incredible care the team put into the quests, there is always going to be someintg that blows your mind.
