Umbra is one of the toughest bosses in the game (level 50) that players can tackle early on in Oblivion Remastered. She carries one of the best armor sets and a sword with her that can decimate foes with a few swings and trap their soul. However, to get her gear, you'll need to beat her in battle, which isn't going to be easy. Depending on your in-game level and equipped gear, this battle can either go amazingly or end in defeat. Here's a quick guide to help you cheese Umbra and get all her gear early on.

Oblivion Remastered: How To Fast Travel

Oblivion Remastered allows players to fast travel to any part of the map, on one of the unlocked waypoints, here's how to do it.

Where to Find Umbra in Oblivion Remastered

Players can find Umbra in the ancient Ayelid Ruins of Vindasel, located southwest of the Imperial City in Oblivion Remastered. After arriving at the location, players will need to defeat a few evil wizards before entering the dungeon.

Before heading into the dungeon, make sure to stock up on arrows, a good bow, and healing potions.

There are a few rats and mudcrabs you need to be mindful of while venturing into these ruins. In addition to the enemies, there are air vents on the floor that release poisonous gas. So, make sure to circle around these vents as you venture deeper into Vindasel.

Once you reach the last room, you'll spot Umbra standing in the lower section. Players can talk to her, but there aren't any dialog options yet, as her quest is tied to the Clavicus Vile shrine.

How to Beat Umbra

Before starting the fight, make sure to position yourself on the pillar marked in the image above. Once you're standing there, shoot an arrow at Umbra's head to start the boss fight. She'll start running up the stairs to hone in on your location, but won't be able to land a hit on you.

Players can use Conjuration spells to spawn allies to aid in the battle.

Keep shooting arrows at Umbra (preferably headshots) to slowly chip away at her health. Make sure not to get close to her, as you'll get hit by her sword. Once her health is depleted, she'll fall to the ground, allowing players to collect Umbra's weapon and armor set.

Rewards for Defeating Umbra

After defeating Umbra, players will get the following items from her body.

Her armor set is pretty powerful, especially if acquired early in the game. However, all her gear will scale with your level, so you'll have a chance of getting better stats on her gear if you fight her at a higher level.

Umbra's sword is one of the best weapons in Oblivion Remastered, as it lets you fill up all Soul Gems in your inventory after defeating enemies (without the need for the Soul Trap spell).
