Oblivion Remastered has a bunch of horse breeds that players can choose from, starting from 500 gold to a whopping 5000 gold coins. Although players do get a horse for free, its speed is no match for the legendary horse Shadowmere. Players get Shadowmere after completing the Purification quest of the Dark Brotherhood. It's a horse gifted to the players by Lucien Lachance as a reward for serving the Black Hand.
Oblivion Remastered: Unearthing Mehrunes Razor Quest Walkthrough
Unearthing Mehrunes Razor is a quest that rewards players with one of the strongest weapons in Oblivion Remastered, here's how to complete it.
Starting the Purification Quest in Oblivion Remastered
Players can start the Purification quest after completing all the contracts from Vicente Valtieri and Ocheeva in Oblivion Remastered. Once you've completed the aforementioned quests, you'll need to talk to Ocheeva. She'll notify players that Lucien Lachance has sent secret instructions for them to follow. After receiving the instructions, you'll need to head over to Fort Farragut.
After you fast travel to the location, don't enter the Fort from the main entrance. Instead, go left from the entrance and you'll spot a huge tree. Enter the hollow space within the tree and interact with the trap door to arrive directly at Lucien Lachance's hideout. After talking to Lucien, you'll find out that there's a traitor among the Dark Brotherhood, and hence players must perform the Purification ritual. This means you'll have to kill everyone at the hideout.
Completing the Purification Quest and Getting Shadowmere
So, head back to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and start purifying everything. However, before you start killing everyone, try to sneak around and pick and choose your targets. This way, other NPCs won't be triggered and launch an attack on you. If everyone is triggered at the same time, this quest can become quite tough.
It's recommended that you use a bow and use the sneak to boost its damage to headshot everyone. Your first target could be Vicente Valtieri, as his quarters are towards the end of the Sanctuary, away from prying eyes. After that, clear everyone in the hallways, including the undead Dark Guardian roaming around with a sword. Once everyone in the open is taken care of, run into the rooms and eliminate everyone inside.
There might be some assassins that you have to track down outside the sanctuary, so just follow the quest markers until everyone is dead. Now, head back to Fort Farragut and talk to Lucien, who'll reward you with the Shadowmere horse, and mark the Purification quest as complete in Oblivion Remastered.
