For those nimble fighters who prefer Thieves, Rogues, Assassins, Battlemages, Rangers, and Witchhunters, Dodging is key to survival. In Cyrodiil, they will encounter thousands of enemies that can send them to an early grave with just a swing of their weapon or a snap of their fangs. So, here's how to unlock the Dodge Ability and how to use it in Oblivion Remastered.

How To Unlock The Dodge Ability In Oblivion Remastered

To unlock the Dodge Ability as soon as possible in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, players need to level up their Acrobatics Skill until they reach level 25. Doing so might be easier than they think, as abilities from level 1 to 25 can be leveled quite fast.

One of the things players can do to accomplish this is to jump around Cyrodiil for a while: As silly as this might sound, it will start to grant them experience in Acrobatics, and this will eventually lead to them unlocking the Dodge Ability.

Players who have unlocked this ability will receive a message on their screens notifying them about their new ability, which is a perk from the Acrobatics Skill and is always active from the moment they unlock it.

Dodge was previously unlockable at level 50 of Acrobatics (Journeyman), but Oblivion Remastered has changed that. Now players are able to use this ability Early (Apprentice level). It makes more sense to give players the ability to dodge much earlier during the adventure, since they need it the most when they're squishy and weak.

How To Dodge In The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered

Dodging will allow players to avoid damage from spells, projectiles, and attacks, and it is specially effective to deal with Daedra

To dodge in Oblivion Remastered, players need to press the Block Button and the Jump Button, and any of the directional buttons (keys or stick). Dodging is especially useful to deal with enemies like Scamps, and other Daedra who use Spells and projectiles all the time. However, it loses effectiveness while exploring dungeons since dodging in enclosed spaces might not yield good results, to always be careful not to be cornered.

Here's the right combination of commands to use the dodge ability in Oblivion Remastered for PC, Xbox, and PS:

  • PC: Spacebar+Right click + Any direction key or WASD.
  • Xbox: Y + LT + Directional Stick
  • PS: X+L1 + Directional Stick

Remember that dodging consumes Stamina (Fatigue) each time players perform this action, and dodging too much will also increase Fatigue levels, so be careful not to overuse this ability.

Of course, players can also increase their Stamina levels by increasing their Strength, Willpower, and Agility, and the more they do so, the more times they will be able to dodge more times without exhausting themselves.
