Shivering Isles is one of the major expansions (from the original) that came packed with Oblivion Remastered, and it's got new enemies, weapons, and armor sets. The Madness Armor is one of the most sought-after armor pieces in the Shivering Isles DLC due to its distinct appearance and the high stats it offers. However, it does require the players to gather Madness Ore, another unique resource part of the expansion. So, this guide will include everything you need to know to craft the Madness Armor for yourself.
Oblivion Remastered: The Wayward Knight Quest Walkthrough
Knights of the Thorn is another minor faction in Oblivion Remastered that players can join by completing the Wayward Knight quest.
How to Get the Madness Armor Set in Oblivion Remastered
To get the Madness Armor in Oblivion Remastered, players will first have to start the Shivering Isles DLC. Players can start the expansion as soon as they exit the sewer tutorial area, but it's best to level up and gather some strong equipment before stepping into the Shivering Isles.
First, you'll have to head to the Strange Door POI east of Bravil. After some interesting interaction with some NPCs near the door, wait for 24 hours, and then enter the portal to reach the Shivering Isles.
Once you arrive in the area, head to the Crucible and enter the Cutter's Weapons workshop. Talk to Cutter, and she'll hand over a recipe list of gear pieces that can be crafted with Madness Ore. The armor pieces you spot in the list are part of the Madness Armor Set, and you'll need a specific number of Madness Ores in order to craft the Madness Armor.
Where to Find Madness Ores
One of the best places to farm Madness Ores is within the Blackroot Lair, located in the Low Road area in Oblivion Remastered: Shivering Isles DLC. Head inside a lair, and players will discover long and winding connecting caverns filled with Grummite enemies. Take down every Grummite you see while traversing through the cave for a chance to get a Madness Ore.
Keep going further into the cave and take down different variants of the Grummite enemies to get at least 16 Madness Ores. Once you're done, return to Cutter to craft the Madness Armor.
Crafting the Madness Armor Set
After returning to the Cutter weapon shop in Crucible, select the "Forge Armor" option to start crafting the Madness Armor in Oblivion Remastered. You'll need to craft the individual pieces with the specified number of Madness Ores. Here's a breakdown of the cost of Madness Ores per Madness Armor piece.
