- New mod adds an invincible Terminator to Oblivion Remastered to challenge players.
- Over 2,500 mods are already available on Nexus Mods for the new game.
- Mod offers a unique challenge for players while they complete the main quest.
A new mod for Oblivion Remastered has added a Terminator that chases players around Cyrodiil in an attempt to end their lives. The mod is certainly meant for use in challenge runs, rather than any kind of regular Oblivion Remastered playthrough.
Although Oblivion Remastered hasn't even been out a month yet, modders have wasted no time in getting to work on Bethesda's latest title. Despite Oblivion Remastered not officially supporting mods, it already has over 2,500 of them over on Nexus Mods, each of which offers something unique for fans to add to their game. It's a Bethesda game, so it was always going to have a strong modding community right out of the gate.
Oblivion Remastered Player's Attempt to Keep Kvatch Guards Alive Ends in Disaster
An Oblivion Remastered player attempts to keep all the guards of Kvatch alive during a main story mission, but the situation ends tragically.
This new mod is titled "Martin Septim and the Terminator Gambit," and it's from Nexus Mods user NaiadGirl. It adds an invincible, level 70 Terminator into the game that will stalk and attempt to kill the player from the moment they step out into the world of Cyrodiil. Clad in Dwemer armor, this Terminator can only be harmed after Oblivion Remastered's main quest is complete. Even then, it'll be a tough fight for most. According to the mod's creator, anyone who manages to beat this Terminator "will be rewarded greatly."
New Oblivion Remastered Mod Adds the Terminator, Sort Of
Although "Martin Septim and the Terminator Gambit" doesn't have many downloads at the moment, it makes sense. This Oblivion Remastered mod is not going to be a go-to for most players, given that its nature means it essentially takes over the entire playthrough. However, in the long run, it should gain popularity as players finish their first playthroughs and look for a unique challenge on subsequent attempts.
Oblivion Remastered has already proven to be a big hit, which won't exactly come as a surprise to most. The focus now for Bethesda and Virtuos is ensuring that the post-launch support for the game helps make it as stable as possible, which seems to be a problem for many users right now. Even if both studios don't quite get there in the end, it's a fair bet to assume that modders will take over and continue improving the game.
