Books aren't just for show or to provide lore drops in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. They can often unlock new levels in a skill or even allow players to learn new spells. Players can find books in the least likely of places in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. They're sometimes hidden away in the corners of a dungeon or left behind on a stool beside a beautiful pond or lake.
The most likely place to find books is in a bookstore. At bookstores, players have a large list of different books they can purchase, and since each book seller has a few scrolls or tomes that others don't have, it's worth visiting them all. That said, finding these book stores isn't always easy since they're not in every town that the player can visit. One bookstore even requires quite a bit of effort in order to access. Below, players can find all the bookstores in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered.

For those just starting out in Oblivion Remastered, here are some of the best skills to prioritize leveling first.
Mach-Na's Books in Cheydinhal
One of the easiest bookstores to find is Mach-Na's Books in the city of Cheydinhal. To get to the bookstore, players will want to fast travel to or access the west gate of the town.
From there, it's a straight shot forward. Walk down the main road and keep an eye on the right for a purple-tinted store called Mach-Na's Books.

Unfortunately, it does come with some debuffs like Drain Speechcraft and Personality on Self by 50 points for 150 seconds.
Renoit's Books in Chorrol
Players will need to head to the far west to the town of Chorrol in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to get to the next bookstore. Fast travel to the south gate, then turn left and walk up the road.

The particular item in Estelle's bookstore to keep an eye on is the Stormrider Scroll. It allows the player to cast Resist Shock on Self by 100% for 5 seconds. Players can also cause shock damage on touch by 100 points for 2 seconds.
Tahm Blackwell in Dunbarrow Cove
Now, getting to the bookstore in Dunbarrow Cove requires quite a bit of effort. Players will need to unlock Dunbarrow Cove first by completing a quest associated with the location.
In the quest, players will need to destroy all the undead pirates hiding inside the cove. Once they're defeated, players can turn the cove into their thieves' guild hideout.
By speaking to Dahlia Rackham, players can purchase a few employees who offer certain services. For the bookstore, players should purchase a Security Expert named Tahm Blackwell for 1,000 coin.
After purchasing his services, he'll spawn in Dunbarrow Cove in the far northwest corner where the pirate ship is located. Players can find Tahm selling the following items:
- Guide To Anvil
- Open Very Easy Lock
The obvious item of value here is the Open Very Easy Lock scroll. This basically allows the player to open a very easy lock without having to sacrifice any of their lockpicks. It's a must-have for any real loot goblin.
Southern Books in Leyawiin
The final bookstore in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will have players traveling south to the town of Leyawiin. Spawn or travel to the town's west gate to get started.
Then, turn right and cut through the graveyard to get to the road on the other side. Follow the road for a few feet, and players should see the sign for Southern Books.
Bugak gro-Bol is the owner of the store, and he's quite aggressive when it comes to selling books. Players can find the following books and scrolls in his store:

There are a number of interesting reads in his collection, but players should definitely get their hands on the Annal of the Fire Nexus. It also allows them to cast Fire Damage on Touch by 100 points for 3 seconds.
Bookstores in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion can give players a chance to boost their skills and learn some new spells, but they can also help players learn more about Cyrodiil and the greater world of Tamriel.
