Specifically, the Japanese magazine gave Metaphor: ReFantazio a score of 37, while rating the Silent Hill 2 remake with a 35, Gematsu reports. For reference, all Famitsu ratings are derived from a total of four individual 1–10 scores, meaning both of these upcoming games received near-perfect ratings from a quartet of reviewers each.

In terms of the reviews' specifics, Famitsu praised Metaphor: ReFantazio for its Persona-like combat system, which also borrows the Press Turn mechanic from the Shin Megami Tensei series, allowing players to both gain and lose turns based on their actions in battle. The magazine's reviewers were also impressed with the game's overall volume of content, estimating that the average playthrough will be between 80 and 100 hours long.
Meanwhile, the Silent Hill 2 remake was praised for its atmosphere and world design that manages to be both rooted in reality and deeply unsettling.
