Once Human: How to Farm Acid

Acid is an extremely important material in Once Human, as it is used to create Gunpowder (and ammunition by extension). Fortunately, there are several ways to quickly obtain Acid in Once Human, and this guide details two activities that fans who are short on the material should pursue.

This guide also explain how to earn Acid while AFK. That said, it is unlikely that players will be able to accumulate enough of the material using just that passive method, and it should thus be considered as a supplement to more active farming.

Once Human: Acid Farm

Before players set out to farm Acid they may want to take a moment to cook some Preserved Deviated Chops, a food item that increases Acid gain by 50% when defeating Deviants. To gain access to that item, fans must unlock Dishes 3, a Tier 4 Logistics Memetic, and they can cook it in an Electric Stove or Kitchen Set.

Players can purchase Peppercorn Seeds from Lacey, a vendor in the Red Sands' Blackfell. This NPC's coordinates are 4111, -1475, and fans of survival games can use the seeds that she sells to grow Peppercorn for their Preserved Deviated Chops.

Production Facility Events

Production Facilities are machines that players can find in many of the game's Settlements (marked on the map that is above), and they can be used to initiate events that center around defending the facility. Those events, and the enemies that appear during them, award Acid, and players can initiate them by inserting Blackfell Refinery and Extraction Permits into the machines. For full clarity, those permits can be looted from crates, and fans who have spent some time completing exploration quests in Once Human should definitely have some on hand.

It is highly recommended that players who want to farm Acid through Once Human's Production Facility events look to do so in groups. Indeed, while it is possible to complete these events solo, they can be made much easier by enlisting the help of other players.

Kill Deviants

Deviants are an enemy type that has a chance to drop Acid when slain, and players who are looking to amass large quantities of the material can simply spend some time in locations where these foes appear in high numbers. For example, Once Human's Holt Town is an excellent place to farm Acid, due to the high-density of Deviants that spawn within it, and players can find this Settlement at coordinates 3818, -4451 in Chalk Peak.

To note, Holt Town has a recommended level of 30. While players can definitely defeat the Deviants at this location before reaching that level, they may want to look elsewhere if they are attempting to farm Acid at a much lower level. As examples, Once Human's Brookham (6595, -4530) and High Banks (5504, -5698) are reasonable options for fans who are looking for lower-level Deviants, though they should not expect to amass Acid as quickly in those locations as they would in Holt Town.

AFK

Players who want to earn some extra Acid while AFK can set up a system that is centered around pumping polluted water, extracting Impure Acid from it, and converting that material into Acid. While this is a fairly slow process, here are the steps that fans who wish to pursue it should take:

Unlock Water Pumps (Logistics - Tier 3), Brewing Barrels (Logistics - Tier 4), and Reverse Osmosis Purifiers (Logistics - Tier 5).
Move territory in Once Human to the edge of a polluted water source. Such a source (4654, -2507) has been marked on the map that is above, though it is certainly not the only one.
Build Water Pumps in polluted water, and connect them to an Osmosis Water Purifier. The purifier should now extract Impure Acid from the contaminated water.
Connect the Osmosis Water Purifier to Brewing Barrels.
Place Pure Water into the top row of the Brewing Barrel (Pure Water Input) and Impure Acid into the middle row (Raw Material(s) Input).
Wait for Acid to appear in the bottom row of the Brewing Barrel (Beverage Output).
