Once Human has an impressive list of enemies, from basic zombies to military grunts and monsters that are a bit more unique in terms of looks and behavior. Bosses known as Great Ones stand out as the most dangerous of enemies in the game, and the spider-like Arachsiam is one of them.
Arachsiam is one of the most dangerous enemies early on in Once Human. While it's not particularly difficult to beat, it does have one specific mechanic that's had a lot of players scratching their heads. This guide covers all the mechanics you need to know about Arachsiam as well as some tips on how to beat it quickly.
Once Human: Polluted Water Areas Map
Players who are looking for areas with polluted water in Once Human can find a map that highlights four contaminated locations in this guide.
How To Beat Arachsiam In Once Human
This boss poses a greater threat compared to the Treant and Ravenous Hunter bosses. It can swipe at players with its massive legs, and it can spit out webs that can completely encapsulate anyone who touches them, leaving them open to attacks. Additionally, Arachsiam can lay eggs that spawn smaller Spiders. On Hard mode and above, the boss also spawns bigger Deviants that are hard to take down without a good build and upgraded weapons in Once Human.
Fighting Arachsiam is mostly about spatial awareness. Avoid the web balls it spits out, and if it spews any spiders, squash them as soon as you can. The boss will lash out at players randomly, so don't let your guard down.
In Hard mode, you'll need some means of controlling the swarms of spiders and other Deviants that Arachsiam spawns. Combat Deviants like
Zeno-Purifier,
Lonewolf's Whisper, and
Mini Feaster are all great for this fight, but if you can, try finding a group to play with.
Destroy the Eggs
Eventually, Arachsiam will fill the arena with mist and enter an invulnerability phase. To make her vulnerable again, you need to find and destroy spider eggs outside the arena. Check the other end of the web bridges and the walls surrounding you. The eggs should be visible even through the mist since they glow purple. If there are no more eggs outside, check the arena itself. If there are absolutely no eggs left, just wait a bit while dodging Arachsiam's attacks. The boss' shield should go down automatically.
Tips and Tricks
- Using weapon accessories in Once Human can make hitting distant eggs much easier
- Arachsiam's weakpoints are the glowing spots on her chest and rear thorax.
- Damage-over-time effects like Burning and Frost Vortex can help you find Arachsiam through the mist.
- On Hard mode and above, pay attention to the modifiers affecting the boss fight before going in.
- Shoot webbed-up co-op partners to help them break free.
- On harder difficulties, bring a grenade launcher or plenty of hand grenades.
