The open world of Once Human is massive, and while players start their journey with a motorcycle, this won't be enough for those long, cross-region roadtrips. If the default cruiser isn't cutting it out for you, you can always opt for a car instead.

The Retro Coupe is the third vehicle that players can unlock, and compared to the regular motorcycle, it's faster, sturdier, and can hold more fuel by default. It even comes with a passenger seat and some extra storage space. Roaming around in a muscle car feels pretty great as well, especially when you're exploring open Once Human POIs like East Blackfell Junction and High Bank.

How To Craft A Car In Once Human

Memetic node for the Retro Coupe in Once Human
Once Human Retro Coupe memetics

The blueprints for the Retro Coupe can be obtained by unlocking the Four-Wheeler node in the Building section of the Memetics screen. After that, build and interact with a Garage in your base. At the bottom portion of the screen, you should be able to see a button for showing your Vehicle List. From here, select the Retro Coupe, and you'll officially be able to start building it.

Crafting a car is much like building a motorcycle in Once Human. You need to build four Basic Parts using an assortment of materials. For the Retro Coupe, the materials you need are:

Retro Coupe Materials List

Part

Materials

Refined Frame

  • 20 Metal Scraps
  • 30 Steel Ingots
  • 60 Rubber

Standard Engine

  • 20 Refined Parts
  • 50 Metal Scraps
  • 10 Steel Ingots
  • 12 Electronic Parts

Standard Tire

  • 40 Fireproof Plastic
  • 50 Adhesive
  • 5 Steel Ingots

Rusty Oil Tank

  • 20 Rubber
  • 8 Fireproof Plastic

All junk items can be found by exploring and looting. For example, you can find Fireproof Plastic in Once Human in the Iron River region by hunting enemies that drop Gel. Raiding garages and industrial areas tend to give a lot of mechanical parts, so try hitting areas like Refinery Pollution Point and the Greywater Industrial Zone if you need any Refined Parts, Rubber, and Electronic Parts.

Always dismantle scrap items at a Disassembly Bench after coming home from a raid.

Retro Coupe Stats And Performance

Base stats of the Retro Coupe in Once Human
Once Human Retro Coupe stats
  • Durability: 4200
  • Speed: 3.5
  • Handling: 2.6
  • Fuel Capacity: 6000

The Retro Coupe is noticeably faster than the starting motorcycle, though not by much. Fully upgrading your car engine will net you a speed rating of 4.1, which is more than enough for a player's needs. The Retro Coupe's handling is much worse than the motorcycle's, but it's not as bad as the All-Terrain Vehicle.

If you're looking for a speedy vehicle for 1-2 people, then the Retro Coupe is the perfect choice. The extra trunk space is great for storing extra weapons and supplies, and the car itself can take a beating before breaking down, making it a decent choice if you're playing on a PvP-enabled server.
