Once Human is an open-world survival game that grants players the freedom to build their own territory, explore the open world, and take on terrifying bosses to progress through the game's story. This free-to-play game gives players quite a lot to dive into, and although players will never be alone when joining a public server for their first playthrough, they can also match up with friends and survive together.
Once Human is a multiplayer experience, meaning players are bound to bump into each other during their exploration. While some may opt to team up with those they encounter, they also have the freedom to go solo. For players looking to communicate, Once Human offers an in-game text chat along with proximity chat, but also offers the ability to disable all in-game chatter entirely. Here is how to disable the text chat feature in Once Human!

How To Disable Text Chat In Once Human
Disabling the text chat feature in Once Human is relatively simple. To start, players will need to press the F1 key to bring up the Contacts menu, and then navigate over to Settings. Once in the Settings menu, they can then head over to the Messages tab. From here, players will be presented with the channel settings, each of which can be toggled to control what messages show up in the Once Human text chat. These settings are as follows:
- System Channel
- Regional Channel
- World Channel
- Team Channels
- Hive Channel
- Warband Channel
For players who want to disable all in-game chatter altogether, setting each channel to Off is the best option. However, if players still want to receive messages from individuals who are part of their team, Hive, or Warband, they can keep those channels open and disable only the System, Regional, and World channels.
