Weapon customization in Once Human gives players the ability to change both the practical and aesthetic sides of their guns. While there are options that are purely cosmetic, like charms and paint, others, like the Hammer Compensator, alter your weapon's stats while also changing its physical appearance.
The Hammer Compensator is one of the many weapon accessories in Once Human that's designed to improve the overall feel (not the power) of your weapon. This attachment in particular is for high-caliber automatic weapons, and it's one of the best ones out there for recoil reduction during fully automatic fire.
Once Human: How to Get & Use Storage Batteries
Storage Batteries are a must-have accessory if you want to power up your electronic devices in Once Human. Here’s how you can acquire them.
Where To Find The Hammer Compensator In Once Human
The Hammer Compensator can be found all the way in the Red Sands, a region meant for level 40 players and above. Despite that, you can still get this accessory even if you're underleveled, as you don't need to fight anything to get it. The compensator's approximate coordinates are 6186, -562 — this is at the eastern end of the region, directly north of the HP Evolution Institute and west of Securement Silo Theta. The environment here is very rough, so consider bringing an off-road vehicle in Once Human to save on repair costs.
What you're looking for here is a balloon that's floating somewhere above. In our case, it was floating on the northeast side. Shoot the balloon, and it will teleport somewhere nearby. Keep shooting it, and a loot chest will appear. Open it to get the Hammer Compensator and a bunch of other goodies like Stellar Planula and Energy Links.
What Does The Hammer Compensator Do?
This weapon accessory goes into the Muzzle slot of
Assault Rifles and machine guns (
KAM, SOCR, KVD, and
MG4). It increases your accuracy by 9 and your stability by 19. This is the best stat boost you can get from a muzzle device, as not only are the values high by default, but it also doesn't come with any negative drawbacks to any of your weapon's other stats. Again, this does not affect power — you need to upgrade your weapons in Once Human for them to deal more damage.
You can feel the benefit of the
Hammer Compensator as soon as you start shooting. It almost completely smoothens out the erratic horizontal recoil of the SOCR and KAM, making these two guns significantly easier to control thanks to the extra stability. Accuracy tightens your shot groupings, and increasing this stat mostly benefits weapons with low base Accuracy like LMGs and SMGs.
