There's a decent variety of weapons in Once Human, though once you reach the higher levels, some of them will start outshining others. There are some exceptions to this — the SOCR Outsider assault rifle is a good example of a weapon that's great in all stages of the game, and while it does miss out on some damage later on, it's still a formidable pick for PvE and PvP.

The SOCR (or the SCAR-H in real life) by default offers a solid punch at a relatively slow rate of fire. The Outsider variant gives the weapon a chance to inflict Shock damage with each shot, essentially acting like a pseudo-critical strike. It's a very strong weapon to have, and even beginners in Once Human can get it very early on.

How To Get The SOCR Outsider Blueprint In Once Human

The SOCR Outsider is a purple-rarity weapon, and as of writing, its blueprint can only be obtained from Wish Machines, devices resembling arcade game cabinets. Wish Machines sell a number of purple (Epic) and yellow (Legendary) blueprints for weapons and armor, though you'll need to get a lot of Starchrom in Once Human to purchase one of them. There's a Wish Machine you can use in Greywater Camp in Iron River, though you can always make one your own after unlocking the Wish Machine memetic under Tier 3 Logistics.

The blueprint for the SOCR Outsider costs 3000 Starchrom if you want to purchase it directly from the Wish Machine's Blueprint Shop. However, if it's your first time getting it, then we highly recommend checking the Make a Wish menu. This is essentially a gacha system where you get to play whack-a-mole. There's a beginner banner here with a heavily-discounted Starchrom Cost. Each hit usually costs 500 Starchrom, but the beginner banner costs only 200. You're guaranteed to get enough fragments for the SOCR Outsider here along with a few other blueprints.

You can enhance blueprints by feeding them duplicate fragments. To do this, right-click on a weapon blueprint in the Blueprints menu, then click on the glowing Plus (+) sign on the right side.

  • Effect: 35% chance to trigger Power Surge when hitting an enemy, dealing instant Shock DMG. Crits increase the chance of triggering Power Surge by +30%.

The SOCR Outsider is one of the best weapons to get in Once Human, especially early on. Every hit with the Outsider has a chance to inflict additional Shock damage, which essentially doubles your non-critical damage. Combine it with mods that increase Elemental or Power Surge damage to maximize its effectiveness.
