Summary
- Once Human received a new update on April 12.
- While the lack of version number changes clearly labels this patch as a minor release, the update still introduces a decent number of changes in the form of nearly a dozen bug fixes, performance improvements, and exploit plugs.
- The pace of Once Human updates has been ramping up as of late, perhaps due to the game's much-anticipated mobile port, which is scheduled to arrive on April 23.
A new Once Human update rolled out on April 12. The patch eliminates nearly a dozen known issues in Once Human, polishing the game just ahead of its wider release.
The debut title from NetEase subsidiary Starry Studio originally hit the market in early July 2024. Although Once Human is still only available on PC nine months later, this prolonged timed exclusivity period is now finally coming to an end, with the hit free-to-play game being scheduled to reach Android and iOS devices on April 23.
Once Human Update Adds Major Quality of Life Features
Yet another update for Starry Studio's Once Human is here, introducing substantial quality-of-life improvements and some other novelties.
Ahead of Once Human's mobile debut, the popular open-world survival game received yet another update, which rolled out on Saturday, April 12. The changelog attached to the new patch numbers 11 items, most of which are bug fixes. One of them eliminates a task progress blocker that sometimes materialized after surviving a Securement Silo on the Nightmare difficulty, while another resolves an oversight that has so far consistently spammed players with error messages whenever they opened report descriptions.
Once Human Updates Are Ramping Up
The April 12 patch marks the second Once Human update in just five days, which is a rapid pace even by Starry Studio's standards. That said, both of the developer's two latest updates were minor releases, as underlined by the fact that neither of them bumped the game's version number, which has been unchanged since the 1.4.4 update reached Once Human in late March 2025.
In addition to bug fixes, the mid-April patch irons out some performance problems, including a previously reported issue with the Aero Leap item causing stuttering whenever the player is sprinting or rolling. Starry Studio has also managed to deal with an in-game store bug that prevented the weekly purchase limit for the Once Human Scenario Exit Card from resetting. Moreover, the update eliminates an exploit allowing Securement Silo - SIGMA to be skipped while procuring its rewards.
The new patch is likely to please anyone playing Once Human with a controller, on account of fixing an annoying bug that made the Talk option non-interactive whenever the game detected a gamepad. Shadow Gatling respawn blockers have also been addressed with this update, together with an issue that sometimes made the World Map act erratically, jumping to a fog-of-war area after being opened. Based on Starry Studio's recent activity, it's possible that Once Human will receive even more hotfixes ahead of its upcoming mobile debut.
