Like most survival crafting RPGs, Once Human features a detailed base-building system that allows players to create their own unique and functional spaces. You start with a small space and can expand it as you progress. The Build menu has lots of options for different structures, facilities, and decorations to create a comfortable home base.
While there is no option to build Automatic Doors from scratch, you can actually craft door-like structures that open and close automatically. This guide covers everything you need to know about crafting automatic doors in Once Human and take your base to another level.
Once Human: Hearst Industries Guide (Weapon, Gear, and Mystical Crate Locations)
Once Human’s Hearst Industries is home to lots of crates, including weapon, gear, and mystical crates. Here’s how you can find them all.
How To Craft Automatic Doors
As mentioned above, Once Human doesn’t feature pre-built automatic doors. Instead, you will need to combine different structures and create a whole electrical circuit. First, you must unlock the
Solar Generator and Electrical Kit from the Logistics tabs in the Memetics menu.
Next, you’ll need the following items to make an Automatic Door. Each one has a specific purpose:
|
Door Frame |
The basic structure of the Automatic Door. |
|---|---|
|
Dynamic Sensor or Camera |
To detect movement or players near the door. |
|
Pressure Plates |
Transforms physical pressure into an electrical signal which can serve as additional triggers to open the door. |
|
Switchboard |
To control the door's operation based on sensor input. |
|
Power Source |
Preferably a Solar or Hydraulic Generator to power up the Dynamic Sensor and Pressure Plates. |
|
Wall Terminals |
To connect the components together. |
Once you have these parts, the real challenge begins. You’ll need to set them all up in such a way that it creates a fully functional Automatic Door. Follow the steps below to craft an Automatic Door in Once Human:
- First, place the Door Frame where you want the Automatic Door at your base.
- Next, install two Pressure Plates on both sides of the door, making sure they’re directly connected to the door.
- Then, place two Switchboards on opposite sides of the wall near the Door. Use Wall Terminals to connect the switches to your Power Source. By default, the Switches are red but once powered up, they should turn Green.
- After the boards are connected, install two Dynamic Sensors or Cameras on both sides of the Door, making sure they have a clear view of the Pressure Plates. Again, use wires to connect the Dynamic Sensors to the Switchboards and Pressure Plates. Finally, connect the Pressure Plates on both sides to the door from their respective sides.
- With that, the circuit will be complete, and your Automatic Door will be ready for use.
How To Use The Automatic Door
If you’ve set the circuit up correctly and have a consistent power supply, your Automatic Door should operate without direct interaction. Whenever you or another player walks on the pressure plate, it will trigger a signal to open or close the door.
Thanks to the Camera sensors, the door will only open for you and your teammates, keeping out both Deviants and hostile players. Not only does an Automatic Door make it faster for you to move in and out of your base, but it also adds an extra layer of security.

The apocalypse changed everything. Human, animal, plant… all are infested by an alien creature – Stardust. As a Meta-Human, you can survive the contamination and use the power of Stardust. Play alone or join others to fight, build and explore. When the world is in chaos, you are our last hope.
You wake up in the middle of nowhere. You'll have to brace yourself for the cruelty of nature (from monsters to lack of food); however, Stardust's influence does not restrict to living things, it also affects the soil and water. Eating polluted food and drinking dirty water will reduce your Sanity. When your Sanity drops, your max HP would drop accordingly. To eat or not to eat, it's a question.
Battle numerous enemies that are once human, and challenge bosses from another dimension to gain powerful items and ease Stardust pollution. You are not only fighting for yourself, but also fighting for the survivors.
