The One Piece anime is currently airing the Egghead Arc, which kick-started the final saga of the series. While it has been a fun ride, fans are more than ready to move to the next arc in the series. The next arc of One Piece will be one of the best in the entire series, especially since it was set up long ago, before even the timeskip. This new arc is, of course, Elbaf. Fans are hyped for the Elbaf arc to begin in the anime, and luckily, its release date has just been revealed.
One Piece: Oda Confirms A New Timeskip After The Elbaf Arc
Elbaf is a major arc, and after its end, One Piece will get a new short timeskip.
Elbaf will come to the One Piece anime in April 2026. However, the Elbaf arc will be preceded by a long break that many fans aren’t ready for. This break starts at the end of December, following the conclusion of Egghead. Long breaks such as this one will become the norm from now on, and many fans will have to get used to it after One Piece being a weekly series for almost 3 decades.

One Piece's Egghead Arc has been a sensation among fans. The backstory of Kuma, the reveal of Vegapunk, Jewelry Bonney’s character arc, and of course, the Five Elders and Imu, have all been major highlights of this arc. Egghead isn’t the longest arc of One Piece, but it’s one of the most packed ones that fans enjoyed to the fullest. Now, however, Egghead is officially ending.
I won't say that's not fair, Navy man. But raiding the worn-out new green leaves that changed the era of piracy forever? Don't you think you're doing too much? Are you that afraid of the new era? — Shanks
With the Egghead arc ending, fans are looking forward to One Piece’s next arc already, and fans who have read the manga already know that this arc is Elbaf. Featuring the land of the Giants, Elbaf is one of the most awaited arcs of the series. After all, the island was first mentioned over two decades ago during the events of Little Garden.
Elbaf is finally getting animated, and while fans knew for a while it would come in April, an exact release date has finally been revealed. One Piece’s Elbaf arc will finally be released on April 5, 2026, starting One Piece episode 1156.
One Piece's Elbaf Arc Also Received a New Key Visual and Teaser
The new information revealed about Elbaf came to fans via Jump Festa 2026. Jump Festa was long-awaited, and this was definitely one of the biggest pieces of information fans received from the event. Interestingly enough, the release date of the Elbaf Arc isn’t the only thing fans got to see during the event. Fans also got a new Key Visual. This Key Visual features the Straw Hat Pirates in their Elbaf designs, with a LEGO-like aesthetic around.
One Piece: 7 Arcs To Come After Elbaf
Elbaf is great, but even bigger arcs are coming after it in One Piece.
There’s more than just a Key Visual, though. Fans also got a new teaser trailer for Elbaf by Toei Animation. This short teaser hints at the events that will unfold soon, and fans who have read the manga can recognize what scenes have been showcased.
Before The Elbaf Arc Begins, The One Piece Anime Will Go On A Long Break
Fans are excited for the Elbaf arc of One Piece to finally begin, but many are also dreading the break that’s coming before it. Indeed, with the conclusion of Egghead, a long break is now coming. Egghead’s last episode, One Piece episode 1155, titled “The Promised Horizon At Long Last, Towards The Long Awaited Elbaf!” Will air on December 28, 2025.
In the Final Saga, I'll draw it all, the mysteries of the world! — Eiichiro Oda, after the end of Wano
After that, One Piece fans will not get any new episodes until April. This is, unfortunately, a new strategy that Toei Animation will employ moving forward. One Piece is essentially becoming a seasonal anime, with just 26 episodes being released in a year. If One Piece were running on its old system, Elbaf would have kickstarted in January.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece focuses on the journey of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates as they sail the seas to lay claim to the grand treasure known as the One Piece. The anime and manga are currently in their Final Saga. One Piece will drop its last episode this weekend. The official release date of One Piece Episode 1155 is December 28, 2025. Fans can stream the episode on Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, the One Piece manga can be read for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps. Doing so will ensure that fans always support the author.
