One Piece is one of the most popular anime out there, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that it is the biggest anime series in the whole world. Its popularity is such that both anime fans and even people who aren’t into the medium are aware of it. Over the last decade, One Piece has cemented itself as one of the most iconic series ever, so it’s always a shock when another anime beats it.
It's Official, An Old Anime Has Finally Beaten One Piece
One Piece is the king of manga, but it has underperformed in 2025 compared to this old anime.
Most recently, One Piece was beaten on Crunchyroll. By sheer volume of ratings, One Piece isn’t the number one anymore, and this title instead goes to Solo Leveling, an anime with just 25 episodes. While many would say Solo Leveling is the King of anime on Crunchyroll, One Piece remains far bigger, as its anime is the most pirated, and its manga the most sold worldwide.
One Piece Is Beaten By Solo Leveling On Crunchyroll In 2025
Crunchyroll is the biggest anime streaming platform worldwide, and fans know well that it features a large array of anime, including one of the longest-running series ever, One Piece. One Piece has always been popular on Crunchyroll, and it is also one of its highest-rated series. At the moment, One Piece has over 727.3K user ratings. Despite such a large volume of ratings, One Piece has maintained an amazing rating of 4.8/5.
Solo Leveling Is Making A Comeback in November
Solo Leveling is returning, and very soon. As early as November.
For a while, One Piece had the most ratings on the platform. However, this changed in 2025 with the release of a certain anime. Indeed, Solo Leveling Season 2 has beaten One Piece, and by quite a lot. Solo Leveling is now the series with the most user ratings, at over 892.4K. This is quite a significant difference. Solo Leveling even has a higher overall rating, scoring 4.9/5, which is very impressive, and not something many series have achieved on Crunchyroll. Yet again, Solo Leveling showcases the beginning of its anime domination on Crunchyroll, and its rise in popularity.
One Piece Isn’t The Highest Rated Anime, But It’s The Biggest Manga Series
One Piece has definitely been beaten on the Crunchyroll platform, and there is no denying that. But fans also need to understand why that's the case. One Piece is at quite a disadvantage here. While One Piece still gets a lot of legal streams, it is a series that is, for the most part, pirated. This means a lot of One Piece viewers don’t bother with Crunchyroll at all, not even for ratings. In that regard, One Piece probably still remains the most watched and one of the most popular anime series ever.
One Piece doesn’t even really need the anime. After all, the One Piece manga is the best-selling series ever in the world, and by far. No other manga or manhwa series is anywhere close to One Piece. Eiichiro Oda's series has others beat by millions of sales.
Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on break this week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be out next week. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
