The Straw Hat Pirates are led by Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece. When Luffy set out on his journey, he made it quite clear that he wanted about 10 people on his crew. The Straw Hats have, over the years, grown in numbers, and right now, it seems that there is a spot only for one more member to join.
However, that certainly doesn't mean that the Straw Hats can't have other companions. Over the years, fans have seen many companions accompany Luffy and the Straw Hats, and there are some that stand out more than the others.
8 Lilith
A Satellite Of Vegapunk
- Joined In: Egghead Arc
Lilith officially became a companion of the Straw Hat Pirates in the Egghead arc. Originally, Lilith was introduced to the fans as a member of the Vegapunk satellites. However, one by one, every satellite, including Stella himself, succumbed on Egghead Island, with York and Lilith being the only two left alive.
York sided with the World Government, while Lilith escaped the island safely with the Straw Hat Pirates. Now, Lilith is a companion of the Straw Hats, but she has done little to solidify her position higher up the list.
7 Pedro
A Guardian Mink From Zou

Pedro was the leader of the Whale Forest Guardians and a jaguar mink who was introduced to the fans in the Zou Arc. He was a ferocious warrior and a prideful individual who aided the Straw Hat Pirates on the journey to Whole Cake Island to rescue Sanji, his savior.
Pedro did incredibly well throughout the arc and instantly became a fan favorite. Eventually, Pedro ended up giving up his life in order to help the Straw Hat Pirates escape the grasp of the Yonko, Big Mom.
6 Bonney
A Member Of The Worst Generation

Bonney recently became a companion of the Straw Hat Pirates as well. She is a member of the Worst Generation, but appears to have lost her crew. On Egghead, she found herself in quite a lot of danger, especially when the Five Elders descended upon the island.
However, Luffy took her hand and compelled her to fight, forcing her to grow in terms of power in the midst of battle. Now, Bonney finds herself as a companion of the Straw Hat Pirates and is headed to Elbaf with the crew.
5 Carrot
A Loyal Mink From The Phantom Island Zou

Carrot is a rabbit mink who fans were introduced to in the Zou Arc of One Piece. Having been obsessed with adventure from a very young age, Carrot snuck onto the ship of the Straw Hat Pirates and went on an adventure that she would never forget. Carrot went to Whole Cake Island with the crew, and showcased her worth as a fighter there.

Later, she sailed with the crew to Wano, where she fought against Perospero, and did fairly well. After the events of Wano, however, Carrot was made the new leader of the Mokomo Dukedom, which meant that she had to stay behind on Zou and leave the Straw Hats.
4 Kinemon
The Leader Of The Akazaya Nine

Kinemon was a samurai that was introduced to the fans in the Punk Hazard Arc. Back then, he was looking for his son, who later turned out to be Momonosuke. Little did fans know that these two would become some of the most important characters in One Piece in the biggest arc to date, that is, the Wano Country Arc.
Kinemon was a vassal of Kozuki Oden who had set out to the sea to gain reputable allies for the battle against Kaido and Orochi. He was ready to lay down his life for his liege, and his loyalty, trust, and support for Luffy was certainly iconic and tear-jerking for the fans to witness. Currently, Kin lives in the liberated Wano as a fearsome warrior who protects his people.
3 Momonosuke
The Shogun Of Wano and Odenโs Son

Momonosuke set out to the sea after being sent to the future by his Mother in an attempt to gain allies and survive. Unfortunately, he was separated from Kinemon, but eventually ran into Luffy. They didn't start on the best of terms, however, eventually, Luffy came to see him as a younger brother.
Luffy was the only one who treated him like a normal kid and not royalty. These two grew so close to each other that Momunosuke cried his eyes out when they had to go their separate ways. In the end, Momonosuke became the Shogun of Wano, after Luffy defeated Kaido for him, but they are still considered to be a part of the crew in the grand scheme of things, and they will eventually meet again and set sail together.
2 Trafalgar Law
A Worst Generation Member

Trafalgar Law is one of the most popular characters in One Piece and there is certainly a good reason for that. Law is a member of the Worst Generation who also has some of the coolest powers a pirate has shown in One Piece.
Law and Luffy combined their strength in the Punk Hazard Arc and sailed together from there to Wano country. It is safe to say that Law is one of the most popular companions that the Straw Hats have ever had.
1 Vivi and Karoo
The Beloved Duo From The Desert Kingdom Alabasta

Of course, when it comes to companions of the Straw Hat Pirates, none can even come close to Vivi and Karoo. Vivi joined with the Straw Hat Pirates in the Whiskey Peak Arc, and then set out on a grand adventure with the crew that would reduce anyone to tears. Vivi sailed to Little Garden, Drum Island, and eventually to Alabasta with the crew, where she fought with all her might to save her people and prevent the demise of her country with the help of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Unfortunately, she had responsibilities thrust on her shoulders, which meant that she could not continue the adventure with the group. Still, Vivi is considered an honorary Straw Hat and she will meet up with the crew soon enough.
