Even though Oda tends not to focus too much on romance in One Piece, he has, on many occasions, written heartfelt romantic stories as well as amazing tragedies. In doing so, Oda has confirmed some of the very best couples to have ever existed in the world of anime and manga.

Aladin and Charlotte Praline

Children: None

A minor yet endearing couple in One Piece is that of Aladin, the current captain of the Sun Pirates, and Charlotte Praline, one of Big Mom’s daughters.

The Sun Pirates were initially allied with the Big Mom Pirates and worked with them. However, when the rift happened, Praline chose Aladin and the Sun Pirates over her mother. While their marriage started as a simple alliance for her mother, she has stood by Aladin through everything.

Harald and Ida

Children: Hajrudin

King Harald of Elbaf and Ida make up one of the most recent couples that Oda introduced. The two met recently in the story and quickly fell in love, having a child—Hajrudin. However, while they were deeply attached, things didn’t turn out well. Harald couldn’t marry Ida because he was the King and had to marry Estrid instead. He never had a loving relationship with Estrid, even though they also had a child together.

Baby 5 and Don Sai

Children: None

Baby 5 and Don Sai made up one of the most unexpected couples that got married in One Piece. Baby 5, who was in Doflamingo’s crew, didn’t experience much love growing up, which made her very agreeable to anyone.

While she initially fought Don Sai in Dressrosa, she misinterpreted his words and thought they were romantic proposals. The two, in a weird twist, ended up together towards the end of the arc.

Gol D. Roger and Portgas D. Rouge

Children: Portgas D. Ace

Gol D. Roger was the Pirate King, a legendary figure in the One Piece world. For a very long time, until Marineford, fans had no idea that this man had a wife and child.

Roger got together with Rouge very late in his life and not long before his execution. It’s unknown what kind of relationship these two had, especially with recent chapters revealing that Roger had feelings for Shakky. But, he loves Rouge dearly and had already planned the names of his children with her. Rouge loved Roger deeply but died after giving birth to Ace.

Capone Bege and Charlotte Chiffon

Undoubtedly, one of the best couples in One Piece is Capone Bege and Charlotte Chiffon. Fans have known Bege since the Sabaody Archipelago, but his relationship with Chiffon was only revealed when Whole Cake Island started and he became more involved in the plot. Bege and Chiffon have one child together, Pez. The two of them are quite in love and care deeply for each other.

Shakky and Rayleigh

Shakky and Rayleigh have a unique dynamic, especially compared to other couples in One Piece. Fans didn’t know for sure if these two were married, but Oda has subtly highlighted on many occasions that they are a couple. Recently, it was revealed that Shakky rejected Roger and instead chose Rayleigh. It’s unknown if they have any children, but it wouldn’t be impossible. What's even more surprising is that Rayleigh seems to prefer the company of other women on the side, even though he's married to Shakky, and Shakky doesn't mind it at all.

Scopper Gaban and Ripley

Another couple revealed quite recently in One Piece is that of Scopper Gaban and Ripley. In the Elbaf arc, fans finally saw the other wing of the Roger Pirates—Gaban. Fans quickly discovered he is married to a giant named Ripley, and together they have a son named Colon.

This definitely came as a huge surprise to fans, especially since human-giant relationships don’t seem to be very common.
