The One Piece story has entered the final saga, and with that, Oda has officially decided to reveal some big antagonists, some of which were obyk name-dropped previously, and others that are entirely new to the story. One of the most important antagonists that Oda has introduced in One Piece's Final saga is none other than Figarland Garling, Shanks’ biological father. Garling was the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights and is now one of the Five Elders. Fans have yet to see him go all out, but one thing is for sure—he’s strong, something that even Oda himself confirmed. That doesn’t mean he’s invincible, however, as characters like Rocks or Roger could take him down.

Blackbeard
A Descendant of Xebec and Jones
Blackbeard is an anomaly in the One Piece world. At the moment, he has two devil fruit powers, those being the Gura Gura no Mi, the strongest Paramecia, and the Yami Yami no Mi, the strongest Logia. Blackbeard has yet to reach his peak, but still, there aren’t many characters who could take him down.
Blackbeard is also the descendant of Davy D. Jones and Xebec. He will definitely surpass them, and in turn, become stronger than even Garling.
Shanks
Garling’s Own Son
Garling had two sons with a mysterious woman in God Valley, Shamrock and Shanks. Shamrock grew to follow his father, while Shanks was saved by Dragon and raised by the Roger Pirates. Shanks grew to become one of the strongest people in the entire One Piece verse, and he has shown time and again just how strong his Haki is. Shanks is probably the strongest Haki user alive, and he might have already surpassed his father in power.
Imu
The Highest Authority of the World
Imu is the secret sovereign of the world and the highest authority in the World Government. If there’s one character that fans are sure could take down and defeat Garling effortlessly, it’s definitely Imu. Imu is the one who even promoted Garling, first to Holy Knight and then to Gorosei. The Celestial Dragons wouldn’t amount to much without Imu backing them from the shadows.
Gol D. Roger
The Late Pirate King
Gol D. Roger is the late Pirate King in One Piece, and during his era, he was one of the most threatening presences on the seas. Even in God Valley, Roger came to save Shakky with his crew, something that he succeeded in doing.
While Roger and Garling have yet to cross swords in God Valley, one thing that can be said with absolute certainty is that Roger is strong, with incredible Haki, and could have definitely defeated Garling if Rocks did it effortlessly.
Rocks D. Xebec
The Only Known Man To Have Defeated Garling
Rocks D. Xebec, now known as Davy D. Xebec, is undoubtedly one of the biggest legends of the One Piece world. Xebec led one of the craziest crews to ever sail the Grand Line and has already proven himself to be superior to Garling.

Monkey D. Garp
The Hero of the Marines
Garp was, and still is, quite powerful, despite being far from his prime in the current One Piece story. He came to be known as the Hero of the Marines, and his strength is spoken of in legends across the world. Garp doesn’t have a Devil Fruit, but he has some of the best Haki feats in One Piece. Garp was also Roger’s equal and could definitely defeat the likes of Garling if Rocks and Roger could.
Whitebeard
The World’s Strongest Man
Whitebeard is known as the World’s Strongest Man, and for good reasons. He was insanely powerful even back in his Rocks days, even though he wasn't in his prime. He only grew in power after and became one of the most dangerous individuals alive. Not only did he have great Haki, but he also had the most powerful Paramecia fruit ever, called the Gura Gura no Mi. Whitebeard could definitely take on and defeat Garling.
