However, not all Devil Fruits are created equal by Oda. Some are mediocre, while others are legendary and could destroy an island or even the world. Luffy has one of these legendary fruits, as do the likes of Blackbeard and Imu.

Luffy’s devil fruit was, for a majority of the series, not considered special by fans of the series. After all, fans believed Luffy wielded the Gomu Gomu no Mi, a rubber fruit. However, the reality was much different. Luffy’s devil fruit is actually a Mythical Zoan known as the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. This Devil Fruit is definitely one of the most overpowered ones seen in the series, as it allows its user the power to fight with immense freedom with a rubbery body, bound only by their own imagination.

Imu’s Devil Fruit remains a huge mystery in One Piece, but one thing that fans are sure of is that it’s legendary in power. Fans have seen some glimpses of Imu’s powers, such as Domi Reversi, or abilities such as the Demonic Contract, but this must be just a fraction of their full potential. After all, Imu isn’t in Elbaf themself but simply channeling their power through Gunko.

Blackbeard

Blackbeard is a peculiar case in the One Piece world as he doesn’t just have one, but two devil fruits in his possession. Not only that, but both of these Devil Fruits are insanely overpowered.

His first fruit was the Yami Yami no Mi, the very best Logia devil fruit that can even cancel other devil fruit powers with its darkness. His second devil fruit, which he stole from Whitebeard, was the Gura Gura no Mi. This fruit was described as being able to destroy the world.

Kaido

Kaido has showcased the true potential of his Devil Fruit, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, during Onigashima. This Devil Fruit, which allows one to turn into an eastern dragon, is truly legendary. It grants its user insane defense through the tough scales and even crazy offense with elemental abilities. Above all, the strength, stamina, and endurance it offers are absolutely unmatched.

Loki

Loki was a great addition to Elbaf, but he remains largely a mystery for now, at least. While fans don’t know what Devil Fruit Loki has, one thing is for sure: it will be one of the most legendary ones seen in the series. Loki’s devil fruit was said to be capable of destroying Elbaf and possibly the whole world, which should be a huge indicator of what’s to come. While it isn’t confirmed, Loki will likely have a Mythical Zoan.

The Ope Ope no Mi is currently in the possession of Law, and it’s one of the most sought-after devil fruits in the world of One Piece. This devil fruit is insanely versatile, with a whole lot of abilities. The ability that especially makes it legendary is that of the Perennial Youth Surgery. By forfeiting the user’s life, immortality can be granted to someone the user operates upon. This will surely be very relevant in the final saga.

Yamato

• Type: Mythical Zoan

Mythical Zoans showcase many legendary Devil Fruits, and one of them is Yamato’s Devil Fruit, the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami. It isn’t the strongest Devil Fruit out there, but it does turn the user into a powerful protective deity from Wano. Yamato showed just how powerful this fruit can be when she clashed with Kaido during the Onigashima raid.
