King Harald hailed from Elbaf, the land of the Giants. In his younger days, he was a menace who caused problems for everyone, but things changed after meeting Ida. Gol D. Roger was the captain of the Roger Pirates and the only person to obtain the title of King of Pirates. He was an ambitious man who never let the constraints of the world hold him down. Roger didn't have a Devil Fruit, so he had to rely on Haki to get the job done. After repeatedly fighting some of the most well-known characters of the old era, Roger's Haki became so potent that he could one-shot someone like Kozuki Oden without any problems. What makes this an incredible feat is that the attack utilizes Advanced Conqueror's and Armament Haki. Being able to use it at such a young age means that Shanks had mastered the use of both.
Since then, Shanks' strength has only improved, and he has become feared by pirates and Marines alike. In fact, he was able to scare away Admiral Ryokugyu with his Conqueror's Haki.
Joyboy

Joyboy is a legendary figure from the Void Century who spearheaded the fight against the World Government. His actions earned him the honor of being called the "first pirate."
A lot about Joyboy remains a mystery, but Oda has shared a few details about him. For starters, it has been confirmed that Joyboy had eaten the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, the same Devil Fruit as Luffy. He also managed to awaken the Devil Fruit, as Emet confirmed that it had heard the Drums of Liberation in the past. Joyboy also had insanely powerful Haki. When Emet undid the knot containing Joyboy's Haki, it knocked out low-ranking Marines and the Vice Admirals. Furthermore, it forced the Five Elders to revert to their human forms and sent three of them back to Marijoa.
