One Piece's Elbaf Arc has been everything fans have hoped it would be so far. Intense conflicts, major revelations, and so much more have made it one of the best arcs in a long time — and considering what came before it, that's saying something. As the Knights of God look to take Elbaf for the World Government, Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat crew have found themselves in yet another tough spot.
Elbaf has already had some intense moments, and there's likely to be many more before the arc reaches its conclusion. With the Knights of God on the scene and the stakes so high, One Piece fans should be ready to say goodbye to some characters who've gotten caught up in the conflict. These are a few characters who might not make it out of Elbaf alive.
Jarul
The World's Oldest Giant's Time May Have Run Out
At over 400 years old, the former Giant Warrior Pirates co-captain has led a long, eventful life. But his time might be running out. With the Knights of God launching their assault on Elbaf, Jarul, as the nation's elder, is caught right in the middle of the events taking place on the island.
We've already seen that Jarul is willing to make tough decisions to save innocent lives, just as he did when he burned down the Walrus School and Owl Library to save the 10 child hostages — including his great-great-granddaughter, Ylva — who Saint Sommers and the other Knights of God were threatening. Jarul wouldn't hesitate for a second to put himself in danger if it meant saving the people of Elbaf. With the twisted Knights of God running rampant over the island, and Imu giving the now Domi Reveri'd Dorry and Brogy the task of taking out Jarul, his days might be numbered.
Shepherd Sommers
A Potential Game-Changing Character Death
The Knights of God have played a much larger role in Elbaf than they have in Wano and Egghead. The current attack on Elbaf is being spearheaded by Sommers, Gunko, and Killingham. While they've been shown to be incredibly powerful, it wouldn't be too surprising to see one bite the dust before the Elbaf arc ends. If that does happen, Shepherd Sommers seems like the likely candidate.
We've already seen Sommers get out-classed in battle twice so far, first against Nico Robin and then against Scopper Gaban. In the case of the former, Sommers' immortality — a trait that all Knights of God possess — bailed him out of what would've been a devastating final blow from Robin. But we've seen that Gaban was able to do real damage to him thanks to his Supreme King Haki. Though not fatal, Gaban was able to cut off Sommers' arm and even decapitate him. This did slow down his regenerative abilities, but it wasn't enough to put him down for good. Still, we've seen Sommers lose twice so far in Elbaf. If any of the Knights of God are going to die in this arc, there's a good chance it'll be him.
Scopper Gaban
A Legendary Pirate On His Way Out?
Speaking of Gaban, the former navigator of the Roger pirates has made quite an impression throughout the Elbaf arc so far. We've seen just how strong the "Mountain-Eater" is with how well he handled Sommers in battle. Even in his old age, Gaban is undoubtedly one of the strongest fighters on Elbaf.
Last we saw of Gabban, he was handling Sommers better than anyone else on Elbaf, and it seemed like he would've done the same with Gunko if it wasn't for her using his son, Colkon, as a hostage. Gaban left himself open in order to save Colon and was impaled by Gunko's arrows, sending him down to Elbaf's underworld. Thankfully, Chopper was able to save him from falling to his death. Gaban is in a tough spot as long as his wife and son are in danger. The Knights of God now know he has familial connections on Elbaf and have used it against him once. It wouldn't be surprising for them to exploit this again, and next time, Gabban might not be so lucky.
Jaguar D. Saul
A Tearful Reunion Could've Been a Prelude to a Devastating Goodbye
Robin's reunion with Saul was one of the most heartfelt moments of the series so far. As the one who saved her during the Buster Call on Ohara, fans have been looking forward to this moment for years. While it was well worth the wait, it didn't take long for Sommers and the rest of the Knights of God on Elbaf to mess it up.
Saul is last seen having been badly beaten by Sommers and at the mercy of his Iba Iba no Mi. Sheltering Robin due to knowing of the Knights of God's immortality, things aren't looking good for Saul. With the situation on Elbaf getting worse thanks to Imu's arrival via possessing Gunko, Saul might be in for a rough time. Not only is he a former Vice Admiral who betrayed the chain of command, but he's also a member of the Clan of D., making him a potential target of Imu. Whether Saul is outright killed during the conflict or just Domi Reversi'd, Robin might be in store for more tragedy.
Dorry and Brogy
Two Powerful Giants on an Unstoppable Rampage
With the assault on Elbaf being as overwhelming as it has been so far, many would look to the current co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates as the nation's first line of defense. While both Dorry and Brogy did look to be up to the task of defending their homeland, that all went down the drain when Imu used his Domi Reversi ability to change them into demonic versions of themselves, along with some of their crew. Having been given the goal of taking out Jarul and declaring themselves Elbaf's new kings, Dorry and Brogy are going to have to face off against many of their friends and allies.
As of yet, we don't know of any way in which a character who's been affected by Imu's Domi Reversi can break free. The God Valley flashback shows us that Rocks and some of his family fell victim to the ability, and it took the combined efforts of Garp and Roger to defeat him. Though it hasn't been confirmed yet, many speculate that Harald was Domi Reversi'd back when Loki and Jarul saw him being impaled by his guards in the throne room 14 years ago. With seemingly no way to defeat a Domi Reversi'd enemy other than putting them down for good, it looks like Dorry and Brogy's fate might be sealed.
