Summary
- Deaths are rare in One Piece, used as a last resort to elevate the stakes of the story.
- Episode 1132 reveals Kuma's tragic past due to his lineage, leaving fans with a sense of despair.
- Kuma's intense life story will conclude soon, leading back to action-packed present-day events on Egghead Island.
One Piece is different from the usual shonen anime because it doesn't kill off characters unnecessarily. Eiichiro Oda only uses character deaths as a last resort to increase the stakes of the story.
In One Piece Episode 1132, fans learned more about Bartholomew Kuma's tragic past. The Buccaneer was punished because of his lineage. In recent episodes, it seemed that Kuma would get some reprieve, but fate had other plans.
One Piece: Monkey D. Garp Was Not The Actual Hero Of The God Valley Incident
Garp is often lauded as the hero of God Valley when the reality is much different.
One Piece Confirmed The Death Of A Revolutionary Army Officer In Episode 1132
- Ginny's shot at a good life was taken by the Celestial Dragons
- Ginny dies after suffering inhumane torture
The Revolutionary Army is one of the most powerful organizations in One Piece. They are led by Monkey D. Dragon, and their aim is to rid the world of corrupt leaders. The Revolutionary Army is full of strong fighters, and their officers are no exception. In the last few episodes, fans learned that Ginny was the leader of the Eastern forces of the Revolutionary Army, meaning that she was a skilled combatant. Unfortunately, she was kidnapped by the Celestial Dragons, who then performed inhuman experiments on her.
And Kumachi...I'll always...always...love you. —Ginny
As a result, Ginny developed an incurable sickness, which left her in agony. After years of torture, Ginny got out, but the disease had already taken its toll on her body, leaving the revolutionary with little time. In her final moments, Ginny called the Revolutionary Army, including Kuma. The latter didn't listen to her for long, as he wanted to get to her location quickly. Despite Kuma's best efforts, Ginny passed away before he could get there. While Ginny was dead, she left behind a young Bonney.
Bartholomew Kuma Has Suffered A Lot In His Life
Bartholomew Kuma was put through the wringer just because he was born a Buccaneer. The World Government abducted him and his parents because they wanted to punish them for the crimes of the Buccaneers. It did not reconsider for one second that Kuma was only a child, and he deserved a chance to live life. In Marijoa, he was physically tortured and treated with disdain by the Celestial Dragons. Even after his parents died, he did not cave in and decided to live for as long as he could.
Eventually, he was taken to God Valley to become a target for the Hunters. It was during this time that Kuma met Ginny and Ivankov. The two were confident that they could get away with the support of others. Kuma was ready to join them, and that's exactly what he did.
Kuma went with Ivankov to the storehouse where the Devil Fruits were being kept. He took the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi for himself while Ivankov got his hands on the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu. However, before Ivankov could eat the Devil Fruit, he was stopped by Big Mom. Ivankov feared that she would go after Kuma next, so he asked the young Buccaneer to run away and eat the Devil Fruit. Kuma obliged and devoured the Devil Fruit to obtain its powers. With the help of the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Kuma saved more than 500 people who were on God Valley. If he hadn't put his powers to use, then there would have been a lot more casualties. So, in a sense, Kuma was the real hero of the God Valley incident.
Kuma's Flashback Will End In The Coming Weeks
The One Piece anime is currently adapting the Egghead arc. Prior to Kuma's flashback, there was a great deal of action in the arc, and some fans miss it. However, there is no reason to fret, as Kuma's flashback will be over in a couple of months (provided there are no sudden breaks).
Once the flashback is done, the anime will return to present-day Egghead Island, where Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn is raising hell. The Godhead of Science and Defense arrived on the island to punish Vegapunk and those who dared to ally with him. Considering one of the Gorosei is getting involved in the arc, it's very likely that there will be a massive fight on Egghead Island.
