The One Piece anime went on a short break after releasing Episode 1145. However, fans didn't seem to mind that because the anime has been delivering top-notch episodes almost on a weekly basis. The last couple of episodes, especially, have been phenomenal, and they have scored high ratings on IMDb.
Not long after it was confirmed that the anime would go on a break, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of One Piece made a post that mentioned the Elbaf arc. The announcement drew the attention of the fans, who immediately began speculating about what it could be about.

As previously stated, the One Piece anime is teasing an announcement for October 10th, 2025, and it will be linked to the Elbaf arc. It is likely that the anime will disclose the release date for the Elbaf arc. Currently, the One Piece anime is focused on the Egghead Island arc, and it's still far from over. The Straw Hats are still cornered, and there is no way out. So, it might take at least five to six months before the Egghead arc concludes in the anime, meaning it will end in the first half of 2026. It is important to remember that the number is purely speculative and could increase or decrease depending on breaks and the pacing.
Once the arc is over, the anime might take a long break to give the staff a breather. After all, they work every week on the episodes. If the anime doesn't take a break, then there's a chance it will only air a few episodes from the Elbaf arc, in which case, April 2026 would be the suitable time. Toei Animation wouldn't want to release too many episodes because the manga is also on the same arc.
The pace has considerably slowed down because of Oda's ill health. The author has been unable to release new chapters consistently because of his current fitness. In fact, the manga took a sudden break because of Oda's health problems. These breaks will continue until Oda properly recovers, and that won't happen if he is still working on One Piece. It's quite clear that the author needs a long time off, but it's highly unlikely that he will agree to do it, as he loves One Piece fans too much. Hopefully, he reconsiders his priorities and focuses on health more.

Fans who have been following the Elbaf arc in the manga know that it has the potential to go down as the best modern shonen arc. For years, fans have been waiting for the Straw Hats to visit the land of giants. The country has been mentioned several times in the series, but it was only shown properly in the Final Saga of One Piece.
The Elbaf arc is highly significant to the story of One Piece. As one of the oldest civilizations in the series, the giants know a lot about the true history. They even know about Nika and his importance. Oda also chose Elbaf as the arc to introduce the Holy Knights, who are the guardians of Marijoa. Additionally, the author also revealed all the details of the God Valley Incident. Oda mentioned the incident a long time ago, but he didn't get around to disclosing the details until now.
The God Valley Incident featured some of the biggest fighters in One Piece history. All of them being gathered in the same place at the same time made the incident special. Oda also revealed the past of Rocks D. Xebec and the Rocks Pirates. Ever since his name was mentioned, Xebec has become a person of interest. However, Oda didn't disclose any information about the legendary pirate, but that changed in the Elbaf arc. The amalgamation of all these things is what makes the arc so special and arguably the best arc in modern shonen.
