Devil Fruits might offer some of the most diverse powers in One Piece, but Haki is hands down the biggest game-changer in the series — at least in most cases. There are three different kinds of Haki that have been revealed in the series so far, each offering its user a distinct advantage over most opponents. Some characters, like Luffy, Shanks, and other notable figures in the One Piece world, can use all three types of Haki. But the rarest and most dominant is Supreme King Haki.
In its most basic use, Supreme King Haki allows the user to impose their will upon weaker opponents in a way that will either intimidate them or just knock them out completely. More skilled applications of Supreme King Haki can be infused within the user's attacks, making them incredibly dangerous opponents. Elbaf has been a gathering for some absolute powerhouses so far, and of course, some of them possess Supreme King Haki. Here's a look at who on Elbaf can make use of this incredible power.
Scopper Gaban
The "Mountain-Eater" Lives Up To This Name
Scopper Gaban has already shown off just how powerful he is in his limited action throughout the events of the Elbaf Arc. With the Knights of God attacking the giant homeland and going so far as to kidnap some of their children, Gaban and other giants, as well as some of the Straw Hat crew, sprang into action.
A former member of the Roger Pirates and considered to be the third-strongest under Roger and Rayleigh (though he would consider himself the second-strongest), Gaban was actually introduced much earlier in the manga via a flashback of Buggy's in Chapter 19. He would also be seen in Oden's flashbacks and appeared in the "From the Decks of the World" cover story for Chapter 631, alongside Crocus and Laboon. But the Elbaf Arc is where he's really gotten the opportunity to leave an impression.
Gaban showed off his incredible strength when he managed to take down Shepherd Sommers, who had been an absolute menace up to that point, with relative ease. In that confrontation, Gabban infused his axe with Supreme King Haki and was able to decapitate the immortal, which we saw affected his regenerative abilities for a time. He even seemed to be keeping up with Luffy in their scrimmage, though he stopped the fight once he went Gear 5. We didn't get to see him go all out against Gunko, since she used his son, Colon, as a shield. But it's fair to say he would've given her a challenge.
Roronoa Zoro
The Second-Strongest Straw Hat Gets Even Stronger
Speaking of Gaban, it's thanks to him that Zoro found out that he can use Supreme King Haki as well. Zoro had been shown to be able to use it during the Wano Country Arc, but in classic Zoro fashion, was completely oblivious to possessing the incredibly rare and powerful ability.
Kaido noticed it when Zoro struck him with his Ashura Bakkei: Moja no Tawamure attack. He went all out with it in his battle against King, infusing it within his three swords in a stunning display. The on-the-fly application worked well, and Zoro was able to take King down after an intense battle.
There's no doubt that Zoro will play a big role throughout the rest of the Elbaf Arc. With Imu and the Knights of God on the scene, the odds are already stacked against Elbaf and its people. Having someone like Zoro there alongside the rest of the Straw Hat Crew's Monster Trio can really change the tide of battle.
Monkey D. Luffy
The Future Pirate King is Part of a Select Few
We all knew that Luufy was special from the beginning of One Piece. But it's not only his infectious positivity or lofty ambitions that make the Straw Hat captain stand out. Aside from possessing what might just be the most important and powerful Devil Fruit ability in the series, Luffy is one of a select group of living characters who are confirmed to be able to use all three kinds of Haki.
Aside from making use of Armament and Observation Haki, Luffy is also incredibly skilled in using Supreme King Haki. Not only does this prove that Luffy possesses the qualities of a king, but it also puts him in a very select group of people in the One Piece world. Luffy used it unconsciously at first, like when he stopped Sandersonia from killing Marguerite on Amazon Lily, or most notably, when he used it to knock out multiple marines while trying to save Ace at Marineford. But thanks to Rayleigh's training, Luffy can now make use of his Supreme King Haki to the best of his abilities.
You can bet that Luffy is going to have some tough challenges ahead on Elbaf. We've seen the damage that Imu and the World Government can do during the God Valley Incident flashback. It might be too early for a final clash between Luffy and the World Government's ruler, but Elbaf might give us a taste of what a clash between these two incredibly talented Supreme Haki Users looks like.
Imu
One Piece's Final Big Bad?
Though not technically "on" Elbaf, Imu is currently wreaking havoc on Elbaf thanks to possessing Gunko. When he first possessed her, Imu's intense Supreme King Haki was enough to affect multiple giants in the area and shake up some of the Straw Hats, as well as Scopper Gaban. Even Loki seemed to be affected by Imu's presence.
It's clear that Imu is in a different class, even when compared to the likes of the Knights of God and the Five Elders. We haven't seen much from him in the manga, but with his overpowered Domi Reversi ability and mastery over both Observation and Supreme King Haki, we can see just how big a threat Imu poses to not just the Straw Hats and the people of Elbaf, but the world itself.
