This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
The Final Saga of One Piece kickstarted with Egghead, and the threats that the Straw Hat Pirates have faced have only been getting bigger and more powerful, starting with the Five Elders in Egghead, and then continuing with the Holy Knights in Elbaf, along with Imu themself. The Straw Hat Pirates, including Luffy, are not yet ready for what’s ahead of them.
One Piece: 8 Strongest Haki Users In God Valley, Ranked
God Valley showcased some of One Piece's strongest characters, and these had some of the best haki.
There are some major power-ups that Luffy could get in the future to help him keep up with the new enemies. These power-ups include a possible Gear 6, as well as the power to undo Domi Reversi.
Gear 6
Full Body Conqueror's Haki Combined With Gear 5
Luffy unlocked Gear 5 in Wano after dying to Kaido. This ability basically turns him into the Sun God and Warrior of Liberation, Nika. Gear 5 is powerful, but it still isn't enough for him to beat Imu. Luffy could unlock Gear 6, which would be a combination of high-level Haki and Devil Fruit, similarly to Gear 4. For that, Luffy would need to take his Conqueror's Haki to Joy Boy's level, and he'll have to work very hard for that.
Conqueror’s Haki Mastery
Haki Blasts on Joy Boy’s Level
Luffy has mastered his Devil Fruit since he awakened it in Wano, but when it comes to Haki, he still has a long way to go. Luffy is, by no means, bad at Haki, but he has yet to reach his full potential, especially in Conqueror’s Haki. Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki will have to not only reach the level of that of Joy Boy and Shanks, but even surpass it. This power-up is absolutely guaranteed for him. Luffy’s Haki needs to be the very best if he wants to be able to succeed where Joy Boy failed 800 years ago.
Voice of All Things Control
The Ultimate Observation Haki Ability
Conqueror’s Haki is rare in One Piece, but there might be a Haki-related ability even rarer than that. The Voice of all Things, while not explicitly stated to be Haki, is clearly a branch of Observation Haki. Very few characters in One Piece have it, such as Luffy, Roger, Oden, or Momonosuke, and it allows one to hear people, animals, and even inanimate objects around them, since they all have their own voice. It’s a mysterious power, and Luffy will come to fully master it in the Final Saga.
Roger/Rocks/Shanks Haki Blast Ability
The Power to Hit Enemies Like a Hammer
Rocks D. Xebec created one of the most destructive abilities in One Piece, and Oda specifically stated that his sword strikes hit like a hammer. This ability was so good that it was used by Roger too, and then passed on to Shanks under the name of Divine Departure. This attack is important, as it has been used by three One Piece top tiers.
10 Anime Almost As Iconic as One Piece
One Piece is monumental, but so are these other anime series.
Luffy will definitely come to learn a similar Haki technique eventually, maybe after meeting up with Shanks again. Luffy could come up with his own version of this attack that uses one’s fists instead of a sword.
Immortality Counter
The Power to Bypass Immortality
The final saga has introduced an insanely broken ability that members of the World Government possess, and that's immortality. Immortality can only be granted by Imu, and characters who possess this ability are almost unbeatable.
However, even immortality has counters. Advanced Conqueror’s Haki has already been revealed by Gaban to be one of the ways to counter this power, and Luffy must learn it. However, Conqueror’s Haki itself might not be enough. Imu, for example, survived a Conqueror’s Haki blast from 6 top tiers. Luffy has to learn a way to counter Imu's immortality in different ways.
Domi Reversi Counter
The Power to Reverse Imu’s Control
Luffy is the user of the legendary Devil Fruit, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. This Devil Fruit is one of the keys to defeating Imu, and the reason why has become more apparent recently.
Imu possesses the most broken ability in all of One Piece, called Domi Reversi. It allows Imu to turn enemies into amped up allies, and so far, nobody has been able to reverse it. The only way to free someone from Domi Reversi seems to be killing them, but Luffy might have an alternative. Luffy’s Devil Fruit might be the key to reversing Domi Reversi and freeing them. After all, he is known as the Warrior of Liberation for a reason. It is a literal counter to Domi Reversi, and can liberate someone from Imu’s demonic slave contract.
